Noblegarden extended to a week on the PTR
Elizabeth's wishes have been answered -- in-game Easter holiday Noblegarden has been extended to a full week according to the calendar on the PTR. That's six more days to run around getting eggs, not to mention doing all of the new Noblegarden achievements being included in the holiday. In the past, Noblegarden hasn't meant that much to players -- the rewards were never that great, and the fact that it was on only one day (a day usually reserved by most celebrating for family dinners away from the game) made it much less active than it could have been. But Blizzard has revamped the holiday, apparently, so be on the lookout for some eggs and bunnies starting on Sunday, April 12th.One quick note for those of you worried about your Violet Proto-drakes: apparently still none of the Nobelgarden quests are included in the meta achievement. So there won't be any Bags of Candy or monthly Brews to get -- just enjoy the festivities.
And we'll give a shout-out to Kisirani here as well -- since she took over World Events on the Blizzard team, we've seen some great changes. Despite the issues with the Zombie launch event for Wrath, it was still a ton of fun, and we're pretty sure that she and her team also been behind the popular Brewfest and Hallow's End holidays as well. Excellent work -- we can't wait to see what the new Noblegarden is like.

I think what is being missed here is that if this change is in there.... they intending to have 3.1 out by then....
klink-o Mar 5th 2009 6:30PM
I was thinking the same thing. Oh how I hope the patch hits extremely close to that date or after. I'm just not quite ready. Curse you random bad luck!
JDM Mar 5th 2009 6:33PM
Not necessarily. It could just end up being 3.0.10, or just a server-side patch before they flip the switch on Noblegarden. They've commonly put holidays on the PTR with needed, when the holiday had nothing to do with the test patch itself.

Maybe it's just because I'm such a fan of Coren Direbrew and the Headless Horseman, but I so want to see a gigantic Chocolate Rabbit boss for this holiday.
It'd be great...rather than being able to hurt this being of chocolate, you could look for hidden eggs that you have to DPS down. It could use chocolate attacks to slow you down or...I don't know, ruin dinner maybe. And in the end, it would have a chance to drop a magical flying Easter/Noblegarden egg or chocolate armor or something like.

A giant chocolate rabbit? I'll take a long-past-due fluffy white bunny raid boss.
Just look at the teeth!!
Hoggersbud Mar 5th 2009 8:22PM
It'll be an innocent titansteel bunny.
Who will kill you dead!!!

I really wish they kept religion out of my video games.
AutumnBringer Mar 5th 2009 7:37PM
Well, this doesn't seem to really have any ties to religion besides taking place near a real world holiday ... like every in game holiday.
Oh ... and I really wish you would keep your ideas about forcing any notion of religion out of a video game out of my video game. See how that works both ways like that?
Amaxe Mar 5th 2009 10:34PM
You mean like priests and cathedrals and monasteries and paladins and Holy spells and Draenei and Naaru and bishops and brothers etc. etc. etc?
You're a bit late now to be complaining about religion and WoW
Rhoz Mar 6th 2009 3:52AM
It's cool if you're an atheist. I don't hate you for having no faith. However, you have to remember that worlds such as Azeroth are worlds where Deities not only exist, but it's a world where their power is evident in the people's every day lives. You don't need faith to see a Priest mend wounds before your eyes or a Paladin smite the unjust. You can see demons and devils from the bowels of Hell encroaching on your lands.
Wheither or not you believe God exists in the real world is irrelevant. Gods exist in the World of Worldcraft world. Asking Blizzard to keep religion out of WoW would be asking them to remove Yogg-Saron (the Old God of Death) from the upcoming content patch, as well as removing C'Thun from AQ40 and several classes. Blizzard isn't taking bibles and forcing you to read them to level up, after all.
If you want some Religion in your video games, I recomend you check out some http://www.gametrailers.com/player/43789.html for all your Bible in Video Game needs ^^.

You realize that Easter actually has ancient pagan roots of Ishtar and fertility and was only adopted by the Christian church, and even now, the Easter bunny has NO SIGNIFICANCE to religion.
I hope you didn't collect gifts from under Grandfather winter's tree, too, because I mean, that has pagan roots that were adapted to Christianity too. And Hallow's End was ALSO based in pagan religion. And honoring ancestors is current in many eastern religions so there goes the Lunar Festival... is there a holiday we're allowed to keep in WoW that doesn't violate your no religion rule?
JDM Mar 5th 2009 6:31PM
You know, I've been playing the game for -years- and had no idea Noblegarden even existed until it showed up in the Achievements list. The article you linked there from back in '07 (before I started reading this site, even) kinda hits on this, too - the holiday must have been very, very uneventful in years past, as I always had participated in them all... Except the reclusive Noblegarden!

@patrick
Colored eggs in Elwynn forest have about as much to do with Jesus as Greatfather Winter does.
Get over yourself.

And a nice blistering use of Bill Mahar. good work. I approve.
