One Boss Leaves: Gal'darah overcomes Krystallus
Two Bosses Enter ... but only One Boss Leaves, in WoW Insider's series of fantasy death matches. This season's bosses come from the five-man instances of Wrath of the Lich King. This season of Two Bosses Enter, One Boss Leaves rolls inexorably onward with an easy victory for Gal'darah, the High Prophet of Akali from Gundrak, over Halls of Stone Collosus Krystallus. Spectators tightened the focus on balancing mechanics vs. the spirit of the fight this time around, with Hoggersbud observing, "I think an assumption how close you are to Krystallus affecting the shatter damage would be silly reasoning, since as you say, he does do a knockback. If you're going to make it a proximity to Krystallus, make it increase the further away you are instead. At least that'd be something worthwhile. Otherwise you might as well just ignore the shatter effect. ... Just handwave that shatter is going to hurt Gal'darah for some reasonably acceptable amount, and work from there."
Vote later today in the next matchup of this season's Two Bosses Enter ... One Boss Leaves.

Seriously? How can a rhinoceros impale a rock? You can explain us adventurers being able to due to enchanted weapons (I should hope that you have at least greens before you go fighting rocks), but a rhinoceros?

(Just wait for someone to say "f1r$t!11!" right below me...)

So a glowing weapon can impale rock, but a troll that magically turns into a rhino from the power of a sacrificed god cannot?

Yes. That is what I believe.

What you seem to "believe" makes no sense.
If I can slam my axe into a giant rock with nothing but swinging force, then a CHARGING RHINO can sure as hell impale it.
The counter is that the rhino cannot impale it, in which case I cannot damage the giant rock with my axe (thus making the boss immune to my attack physical attack).
Can't have it one way without the other. Either he's vulnerable to physical damage (the way you should be thinking about it since that's how the game works) or he's not.

I tell you these fights always suffer from "first on the vote list wins" even when it's some crazy soft rhino fighting a rock....
Hoggersbud Mar 5th 2009 11:22AM
Whoo! Quoted on the page!
But yeah, I agree with mike above, I'm thinking the first on the vote list is getting an unfair advantage.

It's popular choice. Most people thought that the crazy rhino dude would win.
And also looking at the posts Krystallus had the unfair advantage of being immune to most of the rhino's attacks. No bleeding or impaling. Its not the advantage of popular choice that's unfair, its the whole fight.

Seriously, you Rock Monster lovers are gonna have to get over it before we end up with Krystallus VS Ormorok the tree shaper in the final. 2 bosses I have never ever died to.
God shaped like a rhino might be able to pierce a rock I think.
Next up Malorne (god shaped like Deer) vs Krystalus. Oops sorry Malorne. I know you think your pretty tough but your up against a rock. Automatic loss =(. Better luck next time.
Of course all dragons are softer then rocks, oops they lose.
The Herald Volazi from Old Kingdom? Oh man so squishy poor guy doesn't stand a chance against the mighty Krystalus.

It occurs to me that this series has another 20 weeks, just of these preliminary fights... then another 13 of second-matchup fights.
Then we're left with some lucky boss getting added (perhaps someone from the loser bracket) at that point, or someone getting a bye.
52 original combatants does not make for an balanced setup.
52 to 26. 26 to 13. 13 to 6 +1. 6 +1 to 3 +1. Then we could get back to a decent semifinals and final match. Two byes? Someone's getting lucky.
