The Queue: Ziebart vs Sacco

Sometimes late at night when the sun is down and the moon is up, the writers at WoW Insider sit around the campfire and talk about things. Weird things. Like owning a pet snake and cat at the same time (Sacco), or how putting together a desk can be a pain (Alex). More and more often these days there has been a little friendly feud going on between Alex and Sacco. You can read their little quips at each other over a few posts. So today in the Queue I want to ask you: who would win in a writer cage match? Alex Ziebart or Mike Sacco?

| Mike "The Talbuk" Sacco |
Also, I'd like to thank all of you who left questions not about the crazy delicious Hawaiian Pizza yesterday. You gave me something to work with!
Blinger asked...
"Will the emblems of Heroism be really useless now? If there is no more badge gear I need, have plenty of Frozen Orbs I can throw a stick at, is there going to be any point in me ever doing the current Wrath heroics again other than just to help out mates all of which are in the same boat anyway? Or will it be likely that there will be some form of Heroism to Valor exchange?"
They will probably be useless. However I wouldn't put it past Blizzard to introduce new gear you can buy with them. Save up a few hundred and buy one nice big fat weapon. That's really the only thing I can see happening.
Steve left a comment suggesting that those badges be used to eventually make things like spell thread and other crafted items, mainly through the purchase of frozen orbs. I would whole heartedly agree with that.
Jeff asked...
"Is there any way to track all the places you have explored/haven't explored beyond just the areas needed to complete the exploration achievements and uncover the region maps?"
No, at least not yet. Blizzard has hinted at them including such functionality at some point in the future. If you really want to be sure you visited every area in the map, go through and just run up and down each zone, moving over a yard or two every time you go loop around. You'll end up hitting every spot. It'll take you a long time, but that's the only way I can think of doing it.

This.

Actually Allison would kick both your asses.
Collectively. Simultaneously. Happily. Any other adverb you want to use, too. :)
More questions per post is surely appreciated though.
I'm not a hater, just that you needed a third answer choice... just like that damned Hawaiian Pizza poll. Geez, that stuff SUCKS. :)

Short Queues used to be a good thing =D
I have a question, don't know if its really that related to the focus of TQ, but whatever:
There's this pretty good (and popular?) blogsite, called dwarfpriest.com that up until ~3 months ago used to provide top-notch priest information. The person behind the blog, however, has not checked in for some time with no notice of departure or quitting WoW. Some are hinting that our beloved Dwarf Priest was killed in an accident, but there are always the sick jokers that find making up stuff like that amusing. Could Wowinsider maybe find out what has become of this great blogger?

I have a question for the Queue:
I learned from some Alliance friends at work that in Dragonblight there is a series of quests that allow players to view scripted scenes replaying events from WarCraft 3, which tell some of the backstory of Arthas and his journey to becoming the Lich King. Is there any way in the game for Horde players like myself to participate in these quests and see these events? Or are there any Horde-only events of a similar nature?

Pictures or it didn't happen

Don't forget Wrath heroics are the only way to increase your rep through Championing.
Matchu Mar 5th 2009 7:10PM
You can increase your rep through the high end normal dungeons; the amount is however very small.
Sean Mar 5th 2009 10:32PM
True, but by the time you have earned enough Emblems that they start to pile up, you have also more or less maxed out all 5 reps.
Unless, like me, you are collecting Bear, Cat, and Caster gear.

If you would prefer to have some idea of what areas there are to be explored, allakhazam has some nice maps that list all the explorable areas of a zone. It doesn't help with knowing what you have/haven't explored, but it does make planning your walk through a zone a little easier.
example - Durotar http://wow.allakhazam.com/Im/image/full?id=38994

I was gonna post that same site as link. I never use WoW Allakhazam for items or anything, but I always go to get their maps. The color coding helps get exploration xp off areas that aren't part of the zone achievements. Like in the Dragonblight, Obsidian Dragonshrine and the Wrath Gate share the same exploration achievement area, but both give exploration xp on their own. Allakhazam maps are great for we completionists.

Cartographer and foglight with transparency turned on is the best way to figure out where you need to go.
AyaJulia Mar 5th 2009 6:58PM
There are areas that are not attached to any uncover, but still grant exp. That's what this question was asking about.
vexis58 Mar 5th 2009 9:12PM
I like changing the fog color to something obvious (like red, green or neon purple) so I can easily tell which areas I still have to discover. Keeping it as the default color really makes it blend in with the normal zone map.
Kassu Mar 6th 2009 8:40AM
I've encountered some broken areas in Cartographer. Eastern Plaguelands, Bloodmyst Isle, haven't done Kalimdor yet, probably a few there too.
Mysty Mar 5th 2009 6:44PM
Theya are adding uncut gems to the EoH vendor, much like in TBC
Gorehorn Mar 5th 2009 6:52PM
These are already live. (See later post by me)
Mysty Mar 5th 2009 9:30PM
Oh, well I haven't looked at the EoH vendor in so long..
Inebriated Mar 5th 2009 6:49PM
To better answer the last question, download cartographer. It has a feature which shades and shows the parts of the map that need uncovering (after a bit of tweeking) Map parts that havent been uncovered yet on mine are a deep red for example. (and yes, it is 100% accurate in relation to the achievement, no color=map is uncovered.)
AyaJulia Mar 5th 2009 6:59PM
As I said above, there are areas that don't have a map uncover attached to them, but they still give exp. I have the explorer achievement on my main, but I still occasionally discover these places. Cartographer doesn't help with this.
