UPDATED: Brew of the Year removed from Brewmaster achievement on PTR

EDIT: Bornakk says that the achievement will be replaced in the meta achievement with one that requires you to simply sign up for the Brew of the Month Club. And for those who doubted my psychic powers: Noblegarden achievements are being added to Long, Strange Trip.
Following the pattern of removing achievements that take a while to complete from the holiday meta-achievements, Blizzard yanked Brew of the Year from Brewmaster on the current 3.1 PTR. This means that anyone who was missing it now has yet another fair shake at getting their Violet Proto-Drake for completing all of the other holiday achievements for What A Long, Strange Trip It's Been.
I'm pleased that players who missed that one achievement can still have a shot at the big prize, but man, there seems to be an awful lot of meta-achievement caving lately. It just creates the impression that complaining about something will get it changed, and I don't think that's what Blizzard wants players to believe.
To be fair, it was physically impossible for Death Knights to get this achievement until sometime in 2010. This is a good change for them and I'm okay with that. And no, I'm not against Blizzard removing unfair achievements from reward-bearing metas. This was also the only achievement which was impossible to complete during the event itself.
We'll see if the pattern holds after people miss another impossible-to-miss achievement in the Noblegarden set.
Grats to those for whom this achievement change will make a difference, and early props for your purple dragon.

Those who QQ about this change are elitist jerks, plain and simple. The Purple Proto-Drake achievement should take dedication and should not be based on dumb luck, sick RNG or getting info of beta WoTLK. We were given the impression that the achievement will take a year.
Too bad guys Blizzard cannot please everyone especially those that have nothing but QQ about every damn thing.

Wow at all the people ranting and raving about "giving it away" now. Uhh... you STILL have to earn all those tokens. You just don't have to wait a year to get credit for having done so. But apparently like someone else said checking your mail once a month is SRS BSNESS and the true denotation of a HARDCORE player. lawl.

#%*&ing QQers.

Damn the Noblegarden stuff being added to the meta. I thought I could take a rest during March and April!
If I read it right, you still need to grind 200 tickets to sign up to Brew of the Month to get the Brewfest meta, just you don't need to open mail every month, so in theory you could get the Brewfest meta just in one Brewfest event. Apart from the sheer number of tickets you need to grind for 3 pieces of clothing AND the Club. Good luck with that.

Aww, I was looking forward to relaxing during noblegarden.
The only thing thats unfair are the RNG based achievements, those can go to hell. But something as simple as joining the Brewfest Club?

Gutted. Planned my holiday this year so I missed Lunar Festival, thinking it wouldn't make a difference when I got my Violet Drake due to the BOTM achievement.
Why Blizzard, why?? :( :( :(

I knew the Brew of the Month was required before Achievements came in.
However, I couldn't do it because I was away from home over Brewfest.
Had it been, say, Children's Week I missed, I'd have said; "Fine, I wasn't there - It's totally fair for me to have to wait until next year before I can get my Violet Proto-Drake."
But with Brewfest, it's; "Fine, I wasn't there - It's totally fair for me to have to wait until next year to join the club. But wait... THEN I have to wait a whole other year to drink all the brews."
Missing Brewfest requires you to wait two years, while missing any other holiday requires you to wait only one.
THAT is why this achievement was unfair.
I do feel for you guys who joined the club last Brewfest - had I been home, I would be amongst you.
Yes, it was possible for most people (at least most of the people who comment here) to find out about it in advance.
But it was just not fair for one holiday to punish people who missed it (Death Knights included) twice as hard as any other holiday.

Ugh, really?
This is like the entire reason I didn't stress when Lunar Festival ended and I hadn't gotten the last of the elders. I figured there'd always be next year.
Now I'm betting by this time next year, the meta will have been nerfed to the point of being pointless, or taken out entirely.
Completely lame.

What I hate about nerfing requirements for achievements is that Blizzard used achievements and hard modes as substitutes for content in Wrath, so everytime we see an achievement nerfed they are removing content.

And in 3.2, you will just be able to select the Achievements you feel you should have gotten with a click in the console.

AHha! Boo hoo it's a "welfare" mount!
You fucking bitter losers! Feel proud about your lives, not a fucking video game "achievement." Go do something actually worth bragging about.
There is still a multitude of ways you can feel secure in your manhood through your dumbass cartoon character.
