Noblegarden will apply to What a Long, Strange Trip
So remember last week, when we reported that, to the tune of relieved sighs from Violet Proto-drake seekers everywhere, the Noblegarden achievements wouldn't apply to the What a Long, Strange Trip It's Been meta-holiday achievement? Not so fast, says Bornakk. While the achievements didn't appear in the meta one on the PTR, they will eventually apply. If you want your Violet Proto-drake, you better start getting your egg-searching eyes ready.Sacco actually posted about this in an update on Saturday, but it was overshadowed by the news about the Brewmaster achievement changes, and it's a pretty big deal: we thought we were getting a break on this one, but apparently not. Though it makes sense that all the holidays should be in there (and this explains, of course, why the holiday was extended to a full week), it still is kind of a bummer that we've suddenly got a whole other holiday to do.
But Violet Proto-drakes should be tough to get anyway, and we're sure that, as usual, Blizzard will end up removing any achievements that they figure are unfair (or at least that people whine about until Blizzard doesn't want to hear it any more). And there's one more thought to take away from this: considering that all of this Noblegarden talk is going along with the 3.1 PTR, does that mean we'll see Ulduar on the live realms by Easter?

Sigh... one more long hellish week of work for me...

*sigh* at having to earn stuff.
I WANT FREE CRAP NOW

It's a game. It's supposed to be fun. If you feel like playing WoW is work, I really recommend you stop playing, or at least cut down on your playing time. I'm sure you have enough irritation from other aspects of life, why pay $15 a month for more?

Why a bummer? It's so frustrating to me when people complain about the holidays and how annoying they are and all the trouble they have getting this achievement -- when I'm doing this achievement because I LOVE the holidays, not because I want a cheap and easy way to get a fast mount.
Where's the love, people? Where's the love?
Rofllol Mar 9th 2009 4:08PM
wat is loveeeeee, baby dont hurt me, dont hurt me, no more.
dun dun dun.

Yes! Was about to say the same thing. I hate this attitude and it was the main reason I supported them leaving in Brew of the Year.
Molly Mar 9th 2009 5:43PM
I totally agree! The kind of people who should be going after the violet drake are the kind of people who are happy that there's a whole new holiday to experience and explore! I know I am :)

I'm with ya...
But, I do remember a time two years ago, while having fun with Valentine's Day, I wondered to myself, "why am I doing this!?" It is nice to have a reason now!

When I started doing the holiday achievements, it was just because the holidays were always a blast. I did them before achievements, I'll keep doing them after I've gotten the achievements.
A friend of mine took a look at my achievement screen when I was playing and commented that I must really want the proto-drake, my exact response was: "THERE'S A DRAKE TOO!"
Honestly, the Protodrake is just another perk for me to do this, not the reason. The reason for the season is just plain fun. :P

That's disappointing... I hope there aren't any RNG achievements, though I suspect there are (Haven't checked yet).

Oh brother...

In before the complaining about RNG drops for the white tuxedo shirt, black tuxedo pants, and elegant dress (first two is for one achievement, and the second is for another achievement) and BOTH are required for the Meta.

Do we know what the title is ( if there is one) for the noble garden achievements yet?
h8rain Mar 9th 2009 4:27PM
I vote for [ToonName] Hefner.

Little Bunny [Name].

When I last checked on the PTR, it was Noble.
bundee Mar 9th 2009 5:43PM
Little Bunny [name]? Are you 5?
Xavierlives Mar 9th 2009 5:44PM
Shhh...
We know. We are dreaming.
Xavierlives Mar 9th 2009 5:48PM
and Bundee...
the Love Fool is so adult-like. I sport it anytime I see 5 year olds playing so they can distiguish me from the other 5 year olds.

Yeah, I'll never understand the complaints (outside of horrible RNG stuff, which thankfully they've resolved each one thus far even if it's taken some time) about holidays! They're completely optional and reward fun flavor and cosmetic items only. You don't need to trick or treat or find easter eggs for your Sword of A Thousand Truths. 310% flight speed is also something they consider a luxury and that only people that are exceptional at a portion of the game whether it's the pvp arena drakes, pve glory of the raider or the solo and light hearted holiday events. I love the holidays and have done every one I've been active for since I started playing in 2005. I love all the pumpkins around halloween time and the laughing and reveling of Brewfest. I really hope I see few Violet Proto drakes this coming september and a bunch more the following as more people get into the spirit. Again it's not something required, nobody is forcing you to visit greatfather winter or slay Omen. So please, stop your whining.
