There is no worry about kill the Old Gods. After all the Maelstrom is pulling the continents together towards their destruction. Granted it will take awhile, but the World.... of Warcraft is doomed anyways.

And you're saying then that the maelstrom is pulling the 2 continents together? Sure it's a powerful whirlpool, quite huge. But to say something strictly in the ocean has bearing on the tectonic plate movements of the continents is absurd.

For the maelstrom to pull in continents the continents would have to be floating on top of the water, and that's just not the way it works.
