I think there's several things that have made it easier. One being a lot of bigger guilds have gotten used to testing bosses and dungeons out on the PTR weeks or months in advance of doing it live. Re-releasing naxx after bunches of people had done it at 60 and even 70. Also making gear easier to get will certainly make raids more accessible and easier. Its actually easier to gear a single toon than it ever was in months of running Karazhan. T4 epics didn't all drop in 10 man instances, unlike T7.When 40 man instances were king - gearing up was a nightmarish endeavor that took months to do, now if you don't have at least 2-3 tier set pieces after a month you're probably just unlucky or lazy.
