New Cooking recipes coming in patch 3.1
I was excited to hear the other day that leveling cooking will be a little easier, as more recipes are likely to go grey a little later, but Bornakk has more good news for cooks after patch 3.1. He confirms that new recipes are going in as well, and he can think of two off of the top of his head (so hopefully we'll see even more than that). That will, as he says, make the Chef de Cuisine achievement that much easier as well -- it'll probably still be a pain, but at least there'll be a few more options to pick up new recipes. And I'm curious to see what the new food does, too: I like cooking the usual stat food as much as the next culinary expert, but I'm almost more interested in the fun stuff like Last Week's Mammoth (what a bummer) and the good old Delicious Chocolate Cake. Those cosmetic items make cooking much more fun than just the usual stat buffs that most food give.
So we'll keep an eye out for new recipes. Completists will have at least two more to grab with the new patch.

I was looking for a "I'll be the First to get these new cooking recipes" or something along those lines.
You disappoint me greatly =)

This should give me something to spend my numerous cooking awards on.

So that's two articles on new recipes coming in 3.1, and still no examples to go off of. I would like to know, so I know what to stack up on.

Clams stack...
...oh, wait...no they don't...

You want to collect Borean Man O'War for Black Jelly -- I actually have that recipe on the PTR -- and Zesty Clam Meat for the Clamlette Magnifique. (I haven't found that recipe yet.)
Someone posted a list of every cooking recipe in the game to date in the official forums, and there are only 161 recipes on the list. (This includes the Rogue-only Thistle Tea).
I screenshotted and compared my list to his, and I have every recipe that's on the list except Thistle Tea and Dirge's Kickin' Chimerok Chops, which means that I only have 159 recipes. Yet I have had Chef de Cuisine since 3.0.8 when Worg Tartare was added to the game, and my skills counter says I have 160 recipes.
Some people think that the cooking recipe counter may be counting one of the training manuals as a recipe. Others claim that the level 1 Spiced Bread recipe is being double-counted.
Regardless, it seems clear that no one in the game legitimately has Chef de Partie right now.

@Jay:
"Some people think that the cooking recipe counter may be counting one of the training manuals as a recipe."
This is the correct case. First Aid also counts its skill-cap-breaking manuals in its number, which you can see in your character's "statistics" pane.

Could this be any more vague?
More breaking news:
"There will be class changes"
"Ulduar is going to be an instance"
"3.1 is a patch"
Stay tuned!

you forgot the new "northrend is now cold" update.

What I'm looking forward to is the Fishing Dailies - YAY! Of course, more cooking recipes also makes me glowy-pink.
bundee Mar 10th 2009 6:02PM
I am currently leveling cooking and fishing simultaneously (my fishing just caught up to my cooking at 291) and this is nothing but great news!

The two new recipies in 3.1 are Clamlette Surprise and Black Jelly, the former of which makes levelling cooking marginally easier, and the latter being utterly worthless.
Shadoweric Mar 10th 2009 6:08PM
So if WoWInsider read other sites once in a while, this wouldn't be news and they would know that the recipes are:
- Black Jelly (http://ptr.wowhead.com/?spell=64358)
- Clamelette Magnifique (http://ptr.wowhead.com/?spell=64054)
None of those are today's news. The Clamlette was reported by MMO-Champion when 3.1 first hit the PTR. The other one is 4 days old.

A good addon for the chef de cuisine achievement:

Well, I already hit Chef de Cuisine, having all the non-rogue recipes in the game except the AQ one. It probably would have been less painless to do it with the patch (600g I paid for the Dig Rat Stew recipe as an Alliance).
Meaningless? Probably. But it was a personal goal i set for myself and I am glad I made it
