If you read the article. you'd know that there are three mobs in this encounter. Kologarn, Left Arm and Right Arm.

@boss potentially has more than one place he can be damaged besides the arms

Arms aren't "spots", they are separate mobs. And you are talking about "spots" as if WoW were a FPS where damage you deal depends on which part of target's body you shoot.
