Noblegarden may get delayed
Well that'll teach us to assume -- earlier this week when mentioning the upcoming Noblegarden holiday, we pointed out that considering it was being tested on the PTR right now, we'd likely see 3.1 hit the live realms by the time Easter came around in the real world. But Kisirani has appeared on the forums saying, "Not so fast." Blizzard has apparently gained the power to cancel Easter, because they say Noblegarden and 3.1 will start when it's ready, not because there are kids hunting for eggs on the White House lawn.So basically, if patch 3.1 isn't done by Easter, we won't see the holiday ingame until it is done. And while it'll be a little strange to be looking for eggs in May (if it comes to that), we have to agree that's the right decision: we all know what happens when Blizzard releases a patch that isn't fully tested.
We can wait. Noblegarden might not match up with the real-life holiday this year (if the patch does come late -- Kisirani still says this is a plan, so maybe the patch will be done by April 12th), but hopefully when it does appear, it won't be broken.

Hopefully Noblegarden won't start until a week or two after the patch drops... just to give them time to iron out all the wrinkles.
Zuldim Mar 12th 2009 2:34PM
Oh god yes this.
Brimoonfang Mar 12th 2009 2:39PM
Agreed.
And thank you for resisting the urge to post some variant of
"first".
DrFaust Mar 12th 2009 5:47PM
lol. The first first comment I have seen that didn't say "first".
I agree Shulkman. No reason Noblegarden has to coincede with Easter Day. Anytime in spring I would think would be fine.
Kemikalkadet Mar 12th 2009 2:34PM
If noblegarden coincides with the first week of patch 3.1, it'll be the last thing on my to-do list. Hopefully it'll be a few weeks after so i have time to see all the other shiny new things.
FerrioClef Mar 12th 2009 2:38PM
Wouldn't it be great if Noblegarden happened to coincide with Children's Week? Running around with an orphan while hunting for eggs just sounds too PERFECT!
Brimoonfang Mar 12th 2009 2:49PM
Interesting idea, but no thanks.
I have more than enough to do with the existing
Children's Week seasonal events. Remember the horror
that was trying to accomplish the Hallowed/Merrymaker/
Fool for Love/ meta-achievements before the time ran out?
Especially pre-nerfs?!?
The last thing we need is to stack two required (for What A Long, Strange Trip It's Been) holidays on top of each other.
Ancalimon Mar 12th 2009 3:44PM
are they adding noblegarden to the list of hollidays required for What a Long Strange Trip it's Been? i thought it was left out of the requirements, but i could have missed the news.
Kakistocracy Mar 12th 2009 5:03PM
FerrioClef, interesting idea, but allow me to suggest an alternative...
Let's run around with an egg, hunting orphans.
Abbadon Mar 12th 2009 2:56PM
Maybe it'll get pushed back to May... and hit the same time as Children's Week! Now wouldn't that be fun?
BuzzDX Mar 12th 2009 3:01PM
If we've learning anything about Blizzard delaying things, its generally a good thing. Give the blunders that were the last few patches, it would be extremely smart of Blizz to make sure they work out all of the kinks before putting in something like this.
Also, in addition, with how many people are actually going for the achievement to get the drake, if Blizz messed it up and it prevented people from getting it, you better bet your bottom dollar the forums will be flooded with QQ and hate.
Grady Mar 12th 2009 3:02PM
Blizzard can take as long as they like honestly, people might screech and whine at them but i'd rather have a functional release than something that seems half-built because it was rushed.
Relk Mar 12th 2009 3:08PM
I agree. I would like to enjoy the holiday. Buggy servers and random restarts are not good eats.
I don't care when Blizzard starts it as long as:
-It is fun and all of the achievements are obtainable.
-I won't have to log on 20 times in 20 minutes to get anywhere in Dalaran.
-It is "ready"
Jarviswabi Mar 12th 2009 3:10PM
I just want enough time and lack of bugs to get the meta-achievement. I could care less if it happens around Easter or not. Easter is a retarded holiday anyway. It's bad enough that it's based on a mythical story of some dude coming back to life and then somehow became about a rabbit and eggs (ridiculous x 3), but it's never on the same day each year. Easter can suck it as far as I'm concerned.
Fyve & Boomstick Mar 12th 2009 6:45PM
Dude, you've COMPLETELY missed the point of Easter. Didn't you learn anything in sunday school?
Zombie Jesus loved chocolate and rabbits. I think it was explained in one of the Gnostic gospels
Jarviswabi Mar 12th 2009 6:48PM
LMAO! Zombie Jesus ftw.
Anteia Mar 13th 2009 12:27AM
You'd be more accurate if you said the mythical origions of the goddess Ishtar, goddess of love and war. Love also being fertility- which also meant rabbits were one of the symbols closely tied to her. Eggs were also considered sacred to the ancient Babylonians, hence the origin of "Easter". It was only later adopted by the Christian church and aliged with psalm Sunday. So please, if you're going to get your bashing in, make sure you bash the right religion and belief system.

I second (third?) the 'Booooo' on any overlapping with Children's Week. Trying to finish the Lunar Festival and start the Valentine's stuff at the same was the suck.
Deadly. Off. Topic. Mar 13th 2009 12:15PM
Agreed.
SINisterWyvern Mar 12th 2009 3:18PM
You were really traumatized by 3.0.8 weren't you?
