Level requirements changed on some enchants, items
Most of the time, when Blizzard makes changes like this, they aren't actually targeted at twinks -- they're just designed to keep the game from becoming extremely easy at a given level (I'm still bummed that my Leatherworking drums have no effect after level 70). But obviously twinks are affected by these changes, and as you can see from the comments on that post, they're not very happy with having even more limits placed on how they can buff up.
But then again, as I said a little while ago, twinks have always dealt just fine with limits. Twinkinfo has a poll up on what twinks will do if these changes go live, and the majority of votes say that they'll just keep twinking. They've gone around level restrictions before -- a few more won't be the end of the world.

Now basicly saying that Selling enchant in the AH is out of the question, and there no inscription too put you enchant higher then 60, so we just got the shaft.

YAY!

This is actually a fix the twinkers ASKED for in the context of players who managed to grandfather ZG shoulder enchants onto heirloom shoulders. I guess they didn't think it would hit their toys in addition to everyone else's.
On the plus side, perhaps this will allow Blizzard to let players use any enchant on heirlooms going forward.

That would be nice but until they make twinks only able to fight other twinks or implement other viable twink control/extermination methods I don't see that happening.
Green Armadillo Mar 13th 2009 10:57PM
@ Jorelos: You currently cannot put any TBC or Wrath-era enchants on heirloom items because they count as level 1 so that twinks can't enchant them with Mongoose etc. This means that your heirloom weapons will have very substandard enchants (some of which, like Crusader, are less effective by design post 60) once you get into expansion content. With this change, Blizzard can allow any enchant to go on any item, with the caveat that the enchant would temporarily stop working when mailed to a character who does not meet the requirements.
On the downside, I'm strongly suspicious that the ZG enchant on my shoulders, which I'm using to level an alt who isn't menacing any poor downtrodden twinks in battlegrounds is probably going to stop functioning until I gain some levels due to this change.

@green armadillo
False. currently there is one you can apply, probably because of a bug. the greater inscription of the gladiator works on heirlooms

I admire twinks, some of them at least.
They might be annoying sometimes but it'a admirable the fact that no matter how much hatred goes their way, they still find a way to have fun. =)
Drae Mar 13th 2009 10:47PM
Ret pallies were (are?) hated for the longest time, and I'm sure they had plenty of run destroying everyone.
The more OP you are, the more fun you have, the more hate goes your way.
brucimus Mar 13th 2009 11:14PM
you admire people who like to kick puppies? That's what twinks are. Nothing but cowardly bullys.
Lorsty Mar 13th 2009 11:41PM
Hehe, no. I admire people who can have fun and be happy in this game.
Call me crazy, but I like to see people happy except when they cause harm to others. Let's be honest, besides causing frustration and being annoying, twinks don't do any harm.
I've been on the side of the victims more than I'd like to say, but that hasn't stopped me from befriending some of those guys and noticing how they are happy and have fun. =)

Hey, I'm a legitimate twink. I'm using what's available to me at 49, nothing more. (except the Clefthide leg armor, but that doesn't require any work except a quick trade.)
However, since that's going to change, I'm happy to bring those BoA-toting crazy-enchant-wearing 80s down to my level.
Jorelos Mar 13th 2009 10:44PM
I'm glad they made the change but I'm still waiting for blizz to do the right thing and actually overtly (rather than covertly) tell these twinks that they aren't welcome.
This wouldn't be that big of a chance since they make twinking as hard as possible without actually saying that's what they're doing it just means they'd be able to be honest about it.
Blizz would take a financial hit from this I'm sure as some twinks would cancel their account but probably not as big as some people say since these people would still have their mains that are worth playing on and most players would just adapt.

"I'm glad they made the change but I'm still waiting for blizz to do the right thing and actually overtly (rather than covertly) tell these twinks that they aren't welcome."
Changes like this may be hard on twinks who got used to having high level enchants available to them, but it is not at all saying that Blizzard wants twinks gone.
If anything, this will level the twink field a bit. Another benefit would be that battlegrounds may be a tiny bit more possible for the non-twinks as they level up.
And, as was said, they will find ways to adapt. These are players that have already made up their own game within Blizzard's game. They are both creative and stubborn. :)
CJrush Mar 14th 2009 7:11AM
Yo dawg, we put a game in your game so you can game while you game.
Huma Mar 13th 2009 11:02PM
Lol "twinks aren't happy with even more limits...". Well well well, finally know how the lowbies who aren't twinks that you "pwn" feel. Glad they are taking steps against twinking.
Twinks, when I complained about you and your OP'ness, I was told to f off and adapt.
Well twinks, since your complaining about becoming fair, f off and adapt.
Ilnara Mar 13th 2009 11:39PM
Make no mistake, even with this change, it will still come down to gear, same as always, and after that, class balance. Those who spend the time and money to equip their twinks will still own those who arrive in even their best greens.
Huma Mar 13th 2009 11:53PM
@Ilnara
Of course I don't expect this to end twinking totally, heck I doubt it'll be more than a couple good sized thorns in their arse to be honest.
I'm just happy Blizzard is finally starting to get serious with the anti-twink mood. If this tones down the twinks in BGs for me as I lvl through the brackets, then by God I love it.
Just so sick and tired of going into a 20's bracket and seeing people with 3600+ HP or something.
Ilnara Mar 14th 2009 11:10AM
Huma ; why do you expect not to put in as much work and time as others yet have the same chance as them?
See, you guys think this levels the playing field 'skill' wise and it does no such thing, because you anti-twinks aren't using any semblance of skill in the first place.
You don't get the best gear.
You don't get the best level appropriate enchants.
You don't do any of those things....
Yet you expect to wander into PvP encounters against people who do go that extra mile and expect to have a chance.
Do you expect to run Naxx10 in quest greens too?
Entitled to that as well are you?
You people are scrubs.. blizz only is doing this because you crybabies can't figure out a way to get past it.
Well, enjoy the dead BG's, and waiting 15 hours to even get a BG going because there are no twinks there to proliferate them. Seriously, next BG you go into count the number of non-twinks compared to twinks, then, remove all the twinks, tell me how many players there would be left in that BG.. Based on my twink stint, perhaps 2 to 3 per side was all I ever saw, and don't give me this "we just avoid them because of twinks" garbage.. because as I said, those people will still go the extra mile to get the best gear and enchants, and you'll show up in your greens and still get rolled.
Idiots.
Kylenne Mar 14th 2009 11:47AM
@ Il:
Because everyone knows it takes so much skill to pay 80s to run you through VC over and over.
Twinking may be about a lot of things but please don't pretend it has anything to do with skill. You're not fooling anyone outside your basement dwelling minority.
Huma Mar 14th 2009 11:50AM
@Ilnara
You know why BGs would be dead without twinks? Cause thats basically all there is, twinks. Twinks scared off casuals and made it unfun to play in a BG as you lvl'd up.
Take out twinks, and the people who used to play in BGs before twinks moved in will come back, so NO BGs WOULDN'T be dead, they'd be better off.
The thing is dude, people like me do not plan to stay at, lvl 19/29/39. We have bigger and better things to do, like, lvl 80 so we can really fight the people who really did earn the right to pwn my arse.
Twinks are the real scrubs, because they suck at high-lvl PvP so they stick to the low levels, NEVER level up, and just hoard the best gear for that level. Of course they are gonna be pumped up and crap, because people who level through to 80 don't totally gear up for brackets other than 60-80.
This is what makes them unfair, because someone who decided he sucked at higher lvl PvP stayed in the 10's bracket and geared up with stuff the NORMAL player wouldn't be able to get unless they farmed gold all their lives.
Period dude, twinks are scrubs. All I want to do is enjoy the occasional BG as I lvl to 80. Twinks, who have decided 19/29/39 is the new 80, make that unfun.
Twinks are the real scrubs.
