Vanilla WoW was great. Epics were epic, in every sense of the word. There were quest chains that led you back and forth around both continents; massive, immersive instances that included whole cities; unique areas and scripted events in almost every instance; and loot that wasn't specifically targeted at one exact class and build, which, yeah, made getting your gear harder, but also made everyone unique. I go back to the level 58-60 content all the time. My DK is going to get the Argent Champion title, and if not for personal reasons with my guild I would be well into the Ahn'Qiraj scepter questline on my druid. (And now that I write things down, I'm probably overthinking it, worrying too much. Hmmm.)What's that you say? Go back there? Um, yeah, it's still in the game. Every DK can teleport to EPL to work on Argent Dawn rep, if you take the portal to the Caverns of Time you're just a short flightpath from either Silithus or Onyxia, and Blackrock Mountain hasn't been moved; it's still just south of IF. It's not like you need a special realm to see vanilla WoW.Sure, it's not exactly the same. A raid or five-man group is a different experience from content that can be soloed or done with just one or two partners at 80, if you try to do these instances at or around level 60 it's impossible to find groups, and most of the loot doesn't matter. (Although I think my guild's MT still wears Styleen's Impeding Scarab sometimes.) But all the stuff that made old end-game content different from today's end-game is still there, if that's what you like. Go for it.

Huh? What game are you playing?"massive, immersive instances that included whole cities; unique areas"Explain this comment please... you ARE talking about WoW right? You talk as if these thing were removed from the game. And as far as the AQ scepter quest line goes, if you'r not doing it for rep... its pretty pointless. You can still complete the chain and bang the gong but there's not mount and title reward now since the war effort ended long ago. It's possible to do on -new- servers but, you would have to level an entirely new character since blizzard locks transfers to new realms with the gates closed.@HorriganI agree completely.

Attune,"Explain this comment please... you ARE talking about WoW right? You talk as if these thing were removed from the game."The cities I was talking about were BRD and Dire Maul, for example. And really, did you read my comment? Like, where I said "It's not like you need a special realm to see vanilla WoW" or "all the stuff that made old end-game content different from today's end-game is still there, if that's what you like."? I was specifically saying that they haven't been removed from the game."And as far as the AQ scepter quest line goes, if you'r not doing it for rep... its pretty pointless."Pointless? Rep aside - I'd like that too - it looks like an awesome questline. I've fought Eranikus in the Sunken Temple on four different toons; just once I'd like to fight him in Moonglade. Stuff like that.
