The predominant reasons for Vanilla WoW QQ. 1: No Arenas, No BG's (Essentially no PvP except what took place out in the world) 2: Insert Class here was better (Read always as : Was OP back in the day - and isn't perceived that way now. ) 3: It was a lot harder / more challenging (Read always as: Insanely time consuming, and now that those standards have shifted, the only advantage those with a lot of time had is now gone.)4: Raiding was hard more / more challenging : Yet many people say that the bigger the raid group, the easier it was, more mistakes could be made, it was easier to 'cover' for bads with so many people. The same comparison is made to 10man's and 25mans still today. In other words, most QQ calls for going back to vanilla arise from a stuck state of nostalgia, rose colored experiences and a need to reattain former power that's been balanced away. All needless reasons that do nothing for the game or community as a whole.
