WoW Armory improved with powerful tools

The new tools are incredibly powerful, interesting, and intuitive, allowing players to look through a teams performance over the course of a season. The Match History tool represents matches in a graph form, which players can toggle to show selected periods of time. It shows which opponents a team faced, how much ratings were gained or lost, the average ratings change during the selected period, and even when and what time the matches were played. There's just so much data available, players can conceivably spend lots of time just studying team histories.
Opponent History is an easy to read rundown of all teams a team has played, displaying how many times both teams have met, including their win-loss records against each other. The listing also shows a team's winning percentage against a particular opponent, as well as the net gains in ratings. Match Reports are a snapshot of a specific match, revealing data such as what Arena map the match occurred in, the date and time, and how long the game lasted. Even data such as Killing Blows, damage done and taken, and healing done and taken are all in there.
It's an incredibly robust set of tools that Arena enthusiasts are sure to take advantage of and enjoy looking through. Even without actually seeing entire matches played, there's enough data to allow players to visualize them and even analyze a team. Are some comps really weaker against others? Do some comps perform better in one map and not another? As more and more data comes in and more and more analytical minds peruse them, the coming weeks and months should reveal a lot about Arena play.

The article is about a new armory feature. What's with all these comments, am I missing something?

I'd like to see a little price fluctuation in selling vendor trash. So if you found the right vendor, they'd buy your gray trash item for somewhat more than the rest of the vendors.
cjshrader Mar 13th 2009 8:37AM
I actually really like that I don't have to worry about finding the right vendor to sell my stuff to. It'd just be too much hassle for me to go all around a city selling stuff to different guys just to unload my bags.
Rugus Mar 13th 2009 9:02AM
Naaah people are lazy and that would add a too-hard component to the game (see comment above). I'd love to see that tbh :)

If its gotta be useless fun items, i recon we need a costume shop, its be awsome to dress up like as different things from inside and outside wow, like murloc costumes or little bo peep costumes, just silly things like that ;p

Why would you set your Hearthstone to Silvermoon if you had the ring? I mean you can just pop through the portal in Dalaran and go there.
Why not put your Hearthstone to a more benefitial location like say Feralas where you can pop up and see if the rare spawns are in the arena and bag yourself one of them Orb's of Deception or perhap's Booty bay and try getting them arena chests for your Achievments and such.
Just a thought.
Zach Mar 13th 2009 9:06AM
Good question. It's because I would like to hearth to Silvermoon first after raids or instances and then use my ring to get to Dalaran. If I used my ring to get to Dalaran then port to SC, I'd be stuck in SC or have to take the long route going back.
Ouzak Mar 13th 2009 9:31AM
Wouldn't hearth Dal -> port SC -> ring Dal work just as well?
Zach Mar 13th 2009 9:32AM
@Ouzak - I'd be porting twice just to get to the first place I want to go. =p

Also, you bring up another concept.
Should mobs even drop vendor trash crap, or just more money?
Tordenflesk Mar 13th 2009 8:20AM
I wish i could skip the greys, so i can skin even with full bags.
Guapa Mar 13th 2009 8:33AM
I think vendor trash should stay. It makes bag management much more interesting. I.e. with full bags, I have to decide which greys have the lowest price and should therefore go.
In addition some of the items are just plain funny, like the Stoppable Force or or the Broken I.W.I.N Button...

I want more realistic and fun scripted NPCs, like Windle (the gnome) who is liting the lights in Dalaran each evening. Daralarn visitors and wandering NPCs are fun also.
I like the fact that some NPCs aren't just siting in one place, but moving in their shop.
themightysven Mar 13th 2009 8:36AM
that's a good effect, until you get to the undead repair/blacksmithing vendor in Tranquillen that moves, and thus closes the screen, every few seconds.
(to be fair though, she does say she hasn't got all day)
I think a Junk dealer would be neat, some who sells greys (at cheaper than you can sell them otherwise, and occasionally gets a random awesome item.
cjshrader Mar 13th 2009 8:57AM
@ themightysven
Wait, you want a vendor who sells items for less than they can be sold back to him for? Don't we all!
Sieglinde Mar 13th 2009 8:31AM
How about costumes for your hunter pets? Maybe your pet could fight dressed as Toto, or as a sheep? Could my pet become a wolf in sheep's clothing?
Kazeal Mar 13th 2009 8:33AM
I would love to see a bookshop or library in with all "flavor" books availble to read rather than having to trek around the world to find them, perhaps accesible after doing the well read achievment.
Doomweaver Mar 13th 2009 8:44AM
I just wish I could get all the vanity pets that I destroyed back in the day because I hadn't space to keep them all. For instance I have the achievement for obtaining the Clockwork Rocket Bot. But it seems small compensation to seeing that eccentric little bot running back and forth madly as I ran through the low level instances
