Breakfast Topic: Theme Songs

I couldn't help but imagine my Death Knight striding into Icecrown Glacier accompanied by the music, striking down scourge left and right, then raising their corpses under his own command to leap upon groups of unsuspecting cultists and gnaw their faces off. The climax, I think, would be a one on one fight with a massive, super-powerful abomination. We're talking Blizzard cinematic quality mano-a-flesh-golem blade-on-oversized-meat-cleaver action here.
Alas, I'm a writer, not an animator, so actual visuals of said fight will have to remain in my head. Now, others of my characters, while less epic, have theme music of their own. My Dwarf Hunter is a bit more of a laid back country girl, so I can't help but think Going Up The Country by Canned Heat has a sort of nice and breezy feel that sums up her adventures in the back woods of Grizzly Hills, trapping and hunting and fishing.
I've always been a music lover to say the least, and it's very often that when I'm analyzing a character or a piece of fiction, one thing that I always seem to gravitate to is assigning theme songs and background music to set the proper mood in my mind. My WoW characters are the same. So I'm wondering if I'm alone in this. When it comes to your characters and their epic or not-so-epic adventures, what music sums up their actions? What would be playing on a lazy day? What would be playing at their last stand?

I think for shamans the only honest choices would be 'Hungry Like the Wolf' or maybe anything by Earth, Wind and Fire

The theme song to Global Gladiators (old sega game, best song ever)

My theme song would most likely be Glass Prison by Dream Theater.
Last Stand music would be Everything Evil by Coheed and Cambria or Six Pounder by Children of Bodom.

probly some dragonforce music especially trail of broken hearts dawn upon a new world and probably some other tracks my human paladin setting off from stormwind and then adventuring and then a tales of the past 3 style fight between my paladin and my still lich king affiliated death knight possibly having a red drake saving the paladin during the fight i'd probly have through the fire and flames and then when the drake saves me have either have land where dragons rule or heart of the dragon and the final music trail of broken hearts

Actually, when pvp'ing I listen to lots of different musics. Including Rammstein, Cannibal Corpse (Frantic disembowlement :D), and many other bands ... which are a lot quieter (Is quieter a right word ?). Faith no more for example.
And, lately, I fell in love with Richard Strauss' Four last lieders (Vier letzte lieder). Well I love classical music. And there are many movies soundtrack that are great. Hans Zimmer's ones are great (Pirates of the Carribean, The Last Samurai, Batman Begins etc). Oh, and, I love Depeche Mode too.
Well, in fact, I listen to almost everything while playing. I guess it depends on my mood.

Escape (from the Plunkett and Macleane soundtrack) by Craig Armstrong could be fantastic, combined with the correct footage,
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ZtDe03HzOEw
and i think O Fortuna by Carl Orff is very "Death Knight"
the true art is combining the visuals and the audio to form a sum greater than the parts

I always thought Nemo by Nightwish would be a good theme song for my druid; not because of the lyrics, but because of the feeling of the song. I always imagined him in an epic battle. During the first verse, he and his allies are walking in slo-mo to the location of the battle. During the choruses and the second verse, they fight and bravely survive. Then, during the solo, they are all slaughtered one by one by some powerful force (a bigger army or one huge enemy) except for my druid. During the bridge of the song, he looks around, looks at his opponents with those glowing eyes, and is then slowly surrounded by roots until he is basically a tree. During the final chorus, which is the most epic one of the song, locusts swarm the battle field from all dirrections, killing all of his opponents. During the outro, he leaves his tree, looks mourningly along the battle field at the bodies of his allies as others arrive, too late to provide back-up. He walks away sadly at the loss of his brethren as the back-up marvels at the sheer carnage.
Yeah, I have way too much time on my hands. ;-)

Xavia, my discipline healypriest is a hardcore adventurer-girl. I imagine her running into battle to the sounds of 'I Hate This Part' by the Pussycat Dolls. No, it's not badass and head-banging metal, but it's lots of minor-key tonality and the piano work pays keen attention to detail, and the vocalizing is pretty spot-on too. To put icing on the cake, the lyrics could be totally attributed to the struggle that a boss fight can be...
Maybe I'm stretching it a bit... still, Xavia likes the song. :P
