Realm maintenance for Tuesday March 17th

However, don't take this as a sign. Just because the maintenance is going on and starting earlier does not mean that Patch 3.1 is going live. In fact, it probably has a few more weeks of testing. There's been a few folks at Blizzard calling it their largest content patch yet (although I'd beg to differ saying that Patch 2.4 was their largest).
But if you're interested in Patch 3.1, and really who isn't, you can check out WoW Insider's Guide to Patch 3.1 for a concise index of everything, as well as our latest information.
Don't forget to stay tuned to WoW Insider throughout the day tomorrow – we'll let you know if there's any extended downtime or if the mail suddenly goes missing.
PS: The church sign is totally Dan O'Halloran's fault. He's gotten me hooked on these things...

Not really. I for one hope 3.1 takes as long as possible. My guild and I are racing to wrap up the Glory of the Raider achievements to get our protodrakes which are being removed in 3.1.

And if we don't post notices about realm maintenance I'll wake up tomorrow morning to between 75 and 100 tips in my inbox that the realms are down for maintenance.
I grant that it's not the most pressing news, but it's obvious that people still want it - even if a vocal minority of commenters QQ about it occasionally.

I see the realm maintenance articles as the WOW weather reports. Most of the time it's boring stuff about the temperature, cloud cover, and other minor details, but when the big storms happen...it's kinda important.

Hey, Adam? Could you remove that annoying little profanity-laced temper-tantrum above my comment? That's obviously someone with some severe anger issues who really needs to step away from the computer for a bit, lay off the caffeine for a day or two, and go outside.
Now then - to respond to Mark.
I gloss over the maintenance/patch thing usually. I take note if anything may have changed, or whether there is rumor of a change, and if it piques my interest, I open the article and read it.
If I'm not interested, I don't.
Plain and simple.

So I made a deal with my wife to do laundry during the week if I do dishes.
...but now I have nothing to do during maintenance :(

It is my only form of Realm notification at work, as most WOW related sites are blocked on my work network.
I'm a mage... and by rights I should be huddled in a corner QQing about the change in wind direction.
Yet this doesn't bother me.

Well not sure how long they expect to wait but all week last week my background downloader was running, now my computer has patch 3.1 already, hope they dont just make it sit there for weeks before used
