Kalgan spoke at length about the plans for Season 6, which included some drops from the new wing of the Vault of Archavon. Just like Archavon the Stone Watcher, the new raid boss -- currently a mystery -- will also drop PvE or Tier 8 gear. There's no sign of him on the PTR, either, although I wouldn't be surprised if the boss uses an existing giant model. I wonder if the place will still be called 'Vault of Archavon"?
Right now, you enter the vault of archavon and fight Archavon, it's his vault, he's the head dude around there and the most powerful. But come 3.1 there'll be a badder dude with better loot, it'd be weird having the vault named after the second-in-command so to speak. it'd be like Gruuls lair being named Maulgar's lair :P

I don't understand how this is anything special as the wing has been up on the PTR since like the first build.

If Blizzard does think this is a thing to make live, I hope they make it hard so people who don't try don't get best in slot items.
The current VOA is stupid. Pug Naxx till 4 Horsemen or Thaddius or do a 10min instance and really not needing to do anything.
Get 2050 personal rating or do a 10min instance and not needing to do anything.
It's an absolute joke. Yes I will benefit from this, but It will feel wrong.
