Breakfast Topic: The grass is greener

For the longest time, my wife envied the Alliance for the Sprite Darter Hatchling, but that's going to get straightened out soon enough. We also used to whine how the Alliance got the Winterspring Frostsabers, while the Horde never quite got the Venomhide Ravasaurs (we still might, though!). A lot of little things make us think that Blizzard favors one faction over the other.
This seems to be true of other classes, as well. No matter what happens, for some reason, there's always something that other classes have that the class you play doesn't. I know I'll always whine about a Death Knight's 1 second GCD in PvP. Among other things, I mean. I know how some players cry foul at the bubble. There's always something. Of course, it's really silly to think that there's any sort of favoritism going on (for the record, I don't think there's any), but we'll always find that the grass is greener on the other side. So, in what aspects of the game do you think the other faction or classes have it easier?

i am also reallu hopin that the ravasaur is added for horde because my 80 druid will have something new to do other than the obvious grind rep factions and run heroics for badges and gear.

funny on the Alliance side people say that Blizz favours the Horde. The grass is always greener!

Speaking of DKs, I'm so tired of joining a BG and seeing half the raid is comprised of Death Knights. I got bored of mine after he hit 60. The class just seems a little too easy-mode to me.

Death Knights are given starting gear through their questing zone that is designed to last them through Outlands so they can get to Northrend faster and catch up. So yes, for the first while they are easy mode. Even through Northrend, yeah they're a little overpowered. I like to think it balances out in the end though.

It does balance out in the end, the problem is idiots making L59 DK twinks however.

@ Grady
Maybe so, but thats not the point really.
If you had a race, and the opponent got shoes and you were barefoot, but after a long while youll get some shoes too, does that make the race fair?
Ofc not.
Is it fair DK's are OP now?
Similarly not.

It's funny, because the Horde practically own AV on my battlegroup. We completely and utterly suck at everything else though.

As a warrior, I envy how DKs can use any of their moves in any presence, and their prescences just apply different awesome buffs - they don' t have drawbacks like the warrior ones.

Only 1 AV happens at a time on Bloodlust and Horde win it every freaking time. It wasn't near as bad before WOTLK.
Leesa Mar 17th 2009 8:17AM
I'm on the Bloodlust battlegroup too and almost tear my hair out when I have to do AV because Alliance never... ever...win it. I'm (UNFORTUNATELY) after my PVP mounts which means a grand total of 150 losses for the marks needed. Thats not mentioning the AV special mount that, too.
QQ!

I'm a Horde in Bloodlust and I have to agree. Horde win the majority of AV's. I have no idea why, we have the usual selection of bads, but for some reason we are better at killing your general. I do find that Horde has more rogues and druids willing to capture mines/towers though.
Now, WSG is a cesspool for Bloodlust Horde. I've played about 20 in the last 3 weeks, I've probably seen 3 games won.
AB used to be Horde, no question, now I find its very evenly matched.

Alliance on Bloodlust here. It's the queue. We usually start AV with fewer than 10 people, but enough to keep the game going. By the end, we'll have 30+ people, but the game will basically be over by that point. The only AV I've won in the past 6 months was two weeks ago when five guildies (me included) got with 8 other people and rushed Drek. We stayed alive, grabbed Frostwolf Relief Hut, and were able to get Drek before Van went down.
Tis sad, really. The other BGs (at least from what I've seen) are fairly equal. AV, because of the queuing problem, is completely out of whack.
memzer Mar 17th 2009 9:17AM
The Alliance player pool is just too small for AV on Bloodlust.
You can queue at almost any time in the day and find the Alliance players out numbered > 2:1. Unfortunately the timer that Blizzard use to end a battleground appears to be reset every time a few players join (3?) regardless of other players leaving and the actual faction ratio remaining the same. You can quite often find yourself joining games of >30 Horde :

Bloodlust Alliance here.
We need to stage a 40 man pre-made to destroy the horde just once.
Just once.
I need that damn achievement...
tgcam Mar 17th 2009 11:15AM
im on the nightfall battle group and it's quite the opposite. many of the games i join are terribly outnumbered and we get slaughtered.
Laynne Mar 17th 2009 2:39PM
I was finishing the rep grind for Stormpike a few weekends ago, and AV was just terrible. I think the Alliance would have a chance, if we had enough people. By the time the teams were reasonable balanced (if it happened at all), the game would be at least several minutes in, and the Horde had too much of a head start for us to catch up. Somehow Blizzard thinks that 10 vs 35 is a balanced game...
Rakah Mar 17th 2009 8:13AM
i wish healing done while divine shield is up was reduced too(or at least give it a 1 second cast time or something).
I mean with that plus LoH they essentially get to reset themselves if you cant lock them out.
WoWie Zowie Mar 17th 2009 8:12AM
my battleground horde always wins WSG. i already ranted about how i'll never get the justicar title because i'll never get rep with the silverwing sentinels.
horde ALWAYS wins WSG.
dyer makn Mar 17th 2009 8:13AM
I always hear something about "it always lags in favor of the horde" during heavy Wintergrasp battles
Angelfish_Titan Mar 17th 2009 8:14AM
I must say I do hate the bubble....I don't find pallys to be hard to beat....its just the fact that you have to pretty much kill them twice because they always bubble and heal when at ten percent health. God I love when kill shot crits and kills them before they have time to do that.
