The author of this article seems to be out of touch. First of all, they're trying to bring Assassination in line with Combat, and Assassination was trailing just behind combat on the PTR with poisons *not even working correctly*. This leads you to publicly announce that 'combat will top the charts again'? I hope you have some better evidence for that than "we got 10% haste and 2% damage".You should change that to "we are again the easiest spec to top the meters with", since Assassination can definitely outdo you on longer single-target fights. And telling people to shard their fist weapons is a bit hasty, the spec is still going to be viable in 3.1.PVP and Glyphs: I highly doubt that taking 5 energy off of Mutilate only (our 4pc was all combo moves) is going to break PVP. Other classes are getting buffs and new glyphs, which may affect them in better ways than keeping 1/4th of a mutilate in energy during our opener.Our patch notes are not that short. I have a thread up on my guild's forum which is getting ridiculously large with rogue changes. You probably just haven't been watching the PTR since day 1 and marking every change down. Sure, they're coming in one or two at a time now, but some of our changes have been huge.The only reason they would remove Eviscerate from CttC would be if they plan on extending Envenom even further come next expansion. Right now, it's rarely used anyway and it's not accessible to other trees, so it's not harming anything, and what about poison-immune mobs? We haven't seen many, but eviscerate does have some uses. (early fight, what if your stacks dropped, snd's running out, blablabla)Also, subtlety in pvp/solo: You underestimate taking a mob's hp down to 30% in one ambush. You also get some nice mobility which helps grind, and world pvp couldn't be easier with a sub rogue. The fact that subtlety sees a lot of use outside of the US just screams how pathetic our brackets are compared to theirs, where they actually excel with what they want to, and we just reroll to whatever looks like it'll be stronger.

The author of this comment seems to be out of touch.Combat has been the premier PvE spec for most of vanilla and TBC WoW. It's only regained popularity in WotLK with the advent of Calamity's Grasp or a Shiv spec. Mutilate has surpassed it until only very recently. 2% more damage, and 10% more haste (more white damage, poison procs, combat potency) are all that it will take to push Combat over the top. If you had, I don't know, read any of my links to data, you'd see that the two specs are incredibly close.I'm sorry if you feel that Combat is too easy-mode for you, but realize that most Rogues will ALWAYS spec whatever does the most damage. Most players treat Rogues as the ultimate min/max class, not "play what you feel". I will personally spec my favorite spec whenever I want to, but that's why I'm not leading a bleeding-edge progression guild.I never told anyone to shard their first weapons, on the contrary, I told them that fists were the future. I told them to shard their MACES. MACES. And it has NEVER been viable in PvE.120 energy with Vigor + Glyph, Mutilates cost 60 -5 -5 -5%, you're looking at 42 energy mutilates. During our 4 second cheap shot, that's a potential for 4 mutilates instead of 3 mutilates (factor in lag). At the very least, it's 25 extra energy for a finisher of sorts. If you don't think that energy is important, I'd advise you not watch any old PvP videos, where Thistle Tea and Renataki's determined the outcome of a match.Our patch notes ARE that short. I linked you to the official patch notes, and if you measure it, we're the shortest after mages. Many of the changes have been reversed or consolidated. But your thread on your guild's forum is obviously a far better source of information than Blizzard. If you'd read my column, you'd see that I have posted nearly every change that's come across since day 1.They'd remove Evisc from CttC if they wanted to cement the IDV cycle. OH WAIT THEY DID BY ADDING A DEADLY POISON BONUS TO OUR 2PC TIER 8.
