Swagdog will print your guild's logo on a hat
Our good friends at Swagdog (who are sponsoring our Guild of the Month contest -- have you entered your guild yet? only a little while left this month!) have added a new customized guild item to their lineup: hats. CEO Mike Horn tells WoW Insider that they've "had great success with the personalized Guild Shirts and had numerous requests for accompanying Guild Hats," so wish granted. To buy the hats, just go through the system, and once you get your guild information in there, you'll be able to choose whether you want a hat or a shirt. They run a little pricy for hats, at $24.99, but each hat is custom made to order -- you get your guild logo (with all of the game's choices and colors, or pulled straight from the Armory if you want) on the front, and a Horde or Alliance icon on the back, as well as your guild or character names if you'd like. Hats are flexfit and come in two sizes: Small/Medium or Large/XLarge. Paladins, you'll likely need the larger version.
Pretty smooth -- I like the fact that it's just the tabard logo. The shirts can be a little overboard with all of the tabard art and the text and the class icons, so if you want to show some guild pride a little more subtly, this seems like a great way to go.

Can we print the girl, too?
Lowmana Mar 19th 2009 7:07PM
There's a hat in that picture?
Kassius Mar 19th 2009 7:10PM
Now that i think of it, i have absolutely no idea what my guild logo is, and i've been in for about a year now.

The problem that my Horde character faces is that the logo looks good on the tabard, but not as an icon by itself on a hat. Conversely, my Alliance character's tabard logo looks good by itself. Ah, what a twisted web we weave...

Tonight, fellow nerds the world over will convince themselves that the female troll they've grouped with is in fact the pictured lass.

She's a cutie!

Get some fresh air, gentlemen.

The hats and the shirts run the same price. I suspect they're prices are more in line with the cost of the printing process (which embeds the ink directly into the fabric instead of screen printing or...ick...heat transfers) coupled with the shipping costs and reserving whatever percentage for their profit margin. The shirts and hats themselves probably don't even merit any real overhead costs.
Still, $25.00 for a hat is a bit (??) steep. It's typically the going rate for a custom print on a shirt, though.
I'm still toying with getting a shirt done...but I'm also toying with getting a figure print too. And with also needing to...well...you know...EAT and pay RENT and of course, let's not forget about my Internet and my WoW subscriptions...I'll be passing on these for awhile yet.
/le sigh

Go to "http://warcraft.swagdog.com/" and scroll down to the bottom of the page. Yes, it's an officially licensed Blizzard product.
Huma Mar 19th 2009 7:44PM
What, people actually bought your shirts? Now your selling hats?
My God who buys that crap? Really I could order one, and knowing my luck the day I get it, my guild disbands or I'm kicked out of it.
Swagdog, get a clue.
Huma Mar 19th 2009 7:46PM
Also, who would wear these in public? Maybe for Blizzcon, but anywhere else you'll be recieves a crapload of critisim.
MusedMoose Mar 19th 2009 7:49PM
Not everyone has your luck with guilds, y'know. Some people are in stable, long-standing guilds, while others - myself included - are in guilds with friends whom we know offline.
Clearly, there are enough people unlike you for the shirts and hats to be profitable. And why are you ranting against it, anyway? Don't want, don't buy, simple as that.
Swagdog, keep at it.

Huma, why would you be criticised in public? Anyone who doesn't play wow would just think it was some kind of symbolic design. Anyone who does play wow isn't in a position to judge. ^_^
Munky Mar 19th 2009 8:44PM
Huma is just insecure. If he whines this much about a t-shirt and hat, what do you think he's like in a guild?
Though, I wouldn't wear one either unless I knew everyone in the guild personally. Cuz really, who cares?
Ok, I'd have one if I was in a top ranked guild, too. They should make em for arena teams, too. With pictures of the team members instead of the tabard.
Lemons Mar 19th 2009 7:44PM
I'm holding out until they can tatoo my guild's logo onto my face.
Keyra Mar 19th 2009 7:55PM
For the Horde! :-)
Laynne Mar 19th 2009 8:58PM
I was checking out various things on the site, and it seemed that the price of the hat would stay the same as the item I'd clicked previously. For example, if I click a t-shirt it says $24.99, click the hat it says $24.99. Click a hoodie, it says $59.99, click a hat it says $59.99. Perhaps the hat isn't actually $24.99, and there's an error, or maybe there's just something going on with the site or my browser.

Wow.
Plaster the word "World of Warcraft" on something then slap it onto a pretty girl and you can sell almost anything.
Trid Mar 20th 2009 12:51AM
So what exactly does he mean by the following?
"Paladins, you'll likely need the larger version."
I would call that classism or something...
ckluv76 Mar 20th 2009 10:24AM
yeah right, like there is a WoW player who looks like that!
