Blizzard honors Resto4Life with an in-game item
The blogging community lost a great voice recently, as Phaelia stepped down and closed the doors of Resto4Life, the premiere Druid Healing blog. It seems even Blizzard realizes the contributions Phaelia's made to the game, and has honored her in the form of Phaelia's Vestments of the Sprouting Seed. It is, of course, a leather healing chestpiece, complete with a name that refers to one of Phaelia's main reasons for stepping down. MMO Champion lists as a drop off of the 25-man version of the Iron Council (I would have guessed Freya).
It's always nice when Blizzard recognizes those community members who have gone above and beyond to help out the WoW community by giving them a shout-out in game, and Phaelia's definitely deserving. We'll join Blizzard and the Druid community in one more cheer and raised glass to Phaelia. Here's wishing her good luck with the sproutling and her new, non-blogging life.

I'd love to see a ring a la Angelista's Revenge called something like Cheekia's Band of Comprehension.
Huge respect for Cheeky, BRK, and the others who have busted their asses to make Huntering so much more rewarding.

That is just awesome!

yes this is extremely classy on Blizzards part.
Mythic has a great habit of interacting with warhammer bloggers, and id love to see Blizzard do more of the same.

That is classy on Blizzards part. I mean, they usually run out of names sometimes I'm guessing and this is a neat thing to do.

This is much deserved and the name is of it is just awesome. Respect to both Phaelia and Blizz. And congrats on the sprouting seed.

At least two of the rogue theorycrafters already have in-game references.
[item]Avool's Sword of Jin[/item] - reference to Vulajin
[item]Namlak's Supernumerary Sticker[/item] - reference to Kalman
It always cracks me up how many idiots actually wield Namlak's Sticker. The clue is in the name, folks! Supernumerary = extra, redundant, useless. A weapon with parry / dodge / hit / haste on it is useless for everyone. On the other hand, a weapon with exactly equal amounts of four different rating stats on it is worth its weight in gold to a theorycrafter who wants to spend 10 hours hitting a target dummy to work out the conversion factor from rating to parry% (or similar).

Sometimes, I think blizzard knows more then we do, :O

Very, very cool. Well done Blizz. I may have a temper tantrum if this drops and I don't win it but I'll try to behave. =D

Just when she thought she was out...
They pull her back in.

What part of the name refers to a reason Phaelia quit? "Spouting Seed" refers to what? Lifebloom? Surely Phaelia didn't quit over Lifebloom's mana cost increase.
Still waiting on El's Anglin to get an in-game fishing mention. :)

Phaelia quit her blogging to allow her to spend more time focusing on having a baby (her sprouting seed).
She will be missed greatly by the hugely appreciative druid community who have paid great attention to her druidic thoughts!
And once more, congratulations to the happy couple :)

Can someone clue me in as to why Resto4Life quit? I'm not really up on blog news.
Also, check out one of the other items: Asimov's Drape. Usually they're not that direct with their references. Now if only they'd get rid of the Spirit...
Lindsey Mar 23rd 2009 4:08PM
She's having a baby, so she's quitting to focus on that :)
