At the moment, the biggest mistake is to let players start their DK at 55, but force them to level up any other class. That's the reason, even more than the overpoweredness of the class, that there are way too many of them. If Blizz would just let anyone who already has a 55 start any new character at that level, I guarantee that most of the class population imbalances would disappear.
