I'd like to take this opportunity to whine my butt off.Our tier 8.5 set, the entire set, has 110 hit rating. My guild won't let dual weilding melee into Naxx 10 with anything under 350. I've passed on every single tier token that has dropped since LK came out because almost every piece has no hit on it, the few that do aren't better then the gear I farmed from heroics so I could get into naxx.We got screwed on our tier 7 and now again on our tier 8. Give us something worth wearing for christs sake. Something that's an actual "upgrade" from the gear we can get from rep vendors and bosses in heroic 5-mans.

Your guild is stupid then. You'd do fine at the specials cap in Naxx10. 350 hit is like crazy to get with only heroics/crafted. I'm not even sure it is possible.

@ AllennyGet a new guild asap. It been widely discussed and proven that hit rating is not as important as it once was in BC. You merely need to ensure that you are at the poison hit cap( which i believe is 237) and the rest just comes with new gear. Any guild telling a rogue that they cant raid unless u have 350 hit is just fail. My guild has completed all wotlk content and my gear is somewhat ok and I still only have 257hit.( http://www.wowarmory.com/character-sheet.xml?r=Alexstrasza&n=Tekniques ).

You need to have a long talk with your guild and tell them to update their thinking for the expansion, because the days of focusing exclusively on hit rating are over. You can even point them to an earlier article in this very column and the discussion that follows it.http://www.wowinsider.com/2009/01/21/encrypted-text-guide-to-rogue-stats-for-new-raiders/Short version: there is absolutely no reason to try to shoot for that much hit rating. That they insist on it is absolutely ludicrous.

You're guild is terrible if they won't let people dual wield with under 350 Hit.A rogue only needs to poison hit cap (i wanna say around 243) and then extra is simply a dps boost comparable to other dps stats. I have no idea what DK's DW hit cap is. An Enhancement Shaman's yellow hit cap is barely near 200 though most will go for spell hit cap at 369. A Fury Warrior is also not over 300 for hit cap. So if i were you i'd go tell your guildies to go research classes before they come up with arbitrary requirements so you can actually have good gear as your T7 is an awesome set.

350? Naxx 10? that's ridiculous, i only have like 200 and i do more than enough, your guild needs to realize hit isn't the only thing that mattersplus, 350 is more than 100 into only white hits

You know, after re-reading your post and your complaint about our tier gear not being an upgrade over heroic and crafted stuff, I think the failure here is probably due at least in equal part to your own... well, I'll try to be charitable and call it your lack of information.Educate yourself first, then educate your guild.

Your guild's retarded. With hit-modifier debuffs, you do not need anywhere close to 350, and you only need around 90-110 (?) for your special attacks to always land. (can't be bothered to look it up)Furthermore spreadsheets show that anything past that initial yellow damage hit cap is less important than any other stat. Is your guild all level 70's raiding BT or something? This is WOTLK!

Rogues, as stated on the EJ forum, only NEED 315 hit (for Poison cap). THis 315 is lessend if you have a Boomkin/Shadow Priest in the raid."The following values assume that you have 5/5 Precision and that you are attacking alevel 83 mob: No Add'tnl Buffs -- Specials=99hit Poisons=315hit White=722 Imp FF/Misery Buff available -- Specials=99 Poisons=237 White=722"And for the hell of it:'Expertise RatingFor 6.5% boss dodge chance (26/26 expertise):26 expertise (214 expertise rating) to cap.16 expertise (132 expertise rating) to cap for rogues with 2/2 Weapon Expertise."and this..."Reaching the white hit cap was never necessary. How ever as Poisons are more important in WotLK the EP Value of Hit decreased as the white Dmg part did. So once you reach 237hit (asuming Misery or impr FF) Hit is still nice to have but valued lower then Haste or Expertise"Now, i'd say from that statement, if you know your guild isnt runnign with a boomkin... get yourself to 315.. gems/enchants plus the NON-TIER gear slots shouls have you all figured out.*I* have 4 pieces of t7, and havent had a single issue getting to hitcap.... initially, yes, it was harder, but there is gear out there for you. Our Tier gear doesnt specifically NEED +hit, with all the other gear that is out there with it.
