The most wonderful quest for drop rates Blizz ever came up with was the Are We There Yeti quest in Winterspring where you have to kill Yeti's for their skin. The drop rate is maybe 1% if you're lucky. I guess that was back in the days when they needed time sinks.Maybe they should implement it so each time you don't get the drop, the numbers go down instead of up. That would be fun. :P

Hide quests are the only drop quests I have much time for, specially yeti ones. They really stretch the logic of drop rates. Nearly all my toons skin, so as well as getting quest item hides as a drop I also get them from skinning, sometimes (illogically) off the same beast.Every time I do one of these quests I've noticed the drop rate for hides skinned off the mobs is always noticeably higher than those that are just collected as drops. If I'm dualboxing or with a friend, the one who's skinning and not looting will always complete way ahead of the other. However that Yeti Horn quest is still annoying, did it again yesterday (but nothing as bad as the first time I did it, which was before the drop rate was improved)
