I disagree wholeheartedly. I do think that generally the 10 man is harder, and even frequently more fun, than the 25 man version. However, in my mind, the difference is not in difficulty, but a tradeoff. In 10 mans, there are good items that you have a pretty decent chance to get, since there are only 10 players. In 25 mans, there are awesome items that you have a much decreased chance of obtaining, as there are 24 other people in the raid!In addition, let us not forget two things- one, making the gear equal would more or less KILL the 25 man, make it not played. Sure, there would be the occasional guild run with a full group of 25, but for the most part, people would just get too tired of trying to find people for all those spots, especially people they trusted to get the job done. It's already, at least on my server, harder to find a 25 man raid than it is a 10 man, just because 25 mans are such a pain to organize. And second... half the fun, if not more than that, of the fun of a 25 man is witnessing the awe-inspiring destructive power of 25 players working as one. Even if they're not as hard, 25 mans FEEL more epic. Why shouldn't they offer better rewards?

There's a fundamental flaw in your argument: The 25 man versions of each boss drop twice as much gear. While there are 2.5 times as many people, resulting in a slightly decreased chance of getting gear, the chance you'll receive a reward is still about the same. And your second argument is only valid as an opinion. I personally find the 10 mans to be more epic. To me, the less people it takes to kill a boss the stronger it means we are personally. When I went with my brother to kill Ony a couple months ago, that battle felt more epic than any current raid content. Just the two of us fighting an old world raid boss seemed more fun. In Dragonblight, my shaman solo'd every single group quest at 75. This felt epic. I did it with my priest a few days later and had to group for every quest due to squishyness, and it just became a tank and spank.

But 25-man bosses drop twice as much loot. There's a statistical difference, but a very small one:guaranteed drops per raider in 10-man: 3guaranteed drops per raider in 25-man: 2.4Then factor in the number of times loot has to be sharded because the appropriate class/spec is not represented (frequent in 10-man, rare in 25), and the gap narrows still further.
