here's my take on it: because of the week long raid lockout, 25 man raids would still happen. even if everything you wanted dropped in a 10man run, that just means that people will take 10 mans more seriously. i come from a guild that started into 10mans a month ago, and has since merged with another guild to do 25s. if everything we wanted dropped in 10mans, we wouldn't leave the guild just because we can get it ourselves. we would still want to run 25s, it just means we wouldn't be forced to do so. it would relieve a lot of stress if we didn't have to be on every week, or the guild didn't run because we didn't want to PUG a tank and have ours miss a gear upgrade. i personally would be very excited if they made ulduar10 drop the same as ulduar25.

You don't HAVE TO run 25mans. It is (or should be, according to Blizz) perfectly possible to progress nicely from 10man Naxx/OS/EoE to 10man Ulduar without ever stepping into 25mans.

As Aigarius says, I'm not sure where people are coming from. As is the argument from raiders to non-raiders, what do you need better gear for anyway? If you've seen the content you've seen the content, it's just tuned a bit differently. It's not like BC where you had one option, you got the gear or you simply couldn't see things. The way the game is tuned now is so that you can see the content just fine with the 10 man progression line. No need to run 25s for better gear because once you're outfitted with 10s your are geared just fine for the content. Cripes, it's only a different color with slightly better stats for that matter.
