I only have time to do one raid per week. Since my guild offers both 25 and 10man raids, I've chosen the 25man because of the gear. I did run a 10man and enjoyed it much more as I felt like I got to know my team much better than in the large 25mans. So if could get the same gear from a 10man I certainly wouldn't run the 25 mans.
This is compounded by the fact that I would have less competiation for the gear in a 10man, than I would in a 25 man. This could be easily compensated for by adjusting the amount of loot droped to be proportionaly the same. But then once the group is fully geared and you want to start gearing up alts the 25mans would be the way to go.
I couldn't fill out the survey in regards to the rest of my guild, as many of them do both the 10man and the 25man. So I'm not sure their motivation for running the 25mans.
