Urgent authentication database maintenance underway
The opening announcement on the login screen has just let us know that there is urgent maintenance being performed on the authentication servers. The maintenance will continue until 1:00 p.m. PDT / 4:00 p.m. EDT. During this time you may or may not be able to log into the game. Pretty much the luck of the draw and beyond your control.
Account management and posting on the forums will be offline during this time as well, so the troll's trolling will have to terrifically terminate 'till temporally soon.
We'll update this post when things are back to normal, or if there are additional issues.

Ack... appalling alliteration abuse abounds, Adam.

I wanted to play wow before I made my last class for the evening but nooooo. Blizzard has to be asshats.
Boydboyd Mar 31st 2009 3:43PM
They don't create problems with authentication servers or other maintenance issues on purpose.
I believe you would be the asshat in question after making that assumption/accusation.
Be gone, pest!

Nuuuu!
The forums!! My precious, precious forums! Whatever shall we do without them?!
On a side note, I wonder if this is to try to fix the problems people with Battle.net accounts were having.
epicboyz Mar 31st 2009 3:46PM

Nice way to PHAIL blizzard, i can't wait to see what 3.1 has in store for us. You guys need to start your own stimulus plan and hire more devs to do the work that we are paying for.
I guess I shouldn't complain, they have a history of this phailure.
suck it blizzard!!!
PeeWee Mar 31st 2009 4:55PM
All that anger, ana no one at Blizzard will read it, or care about it if they accidently do.
Waah waaah waaaah. QQ corner is over there. >>

So you all are complaining about on average a around 90% uptime on an internet service? There are worse things to worry about. Personally I'd be worried about the economy, electricity distribution in Iraq, Flooding in the upper midwest, homeless, etc.
native Mar 31st 2009 4:32PM
sure there are worse things to worry about.
but they're only worse because we have lesser worries to compare them with.
therefore we need these small worries to keep things in perspective.
blizzard deliberately did this to help us understand the myriad serious problems in the world today.
and i for one applaud them for it.

ADAM!
Starting to get worried about you.... somehow I lost your email address. Hope you're okay, and that you survived the worst of the floods.
