Battle.net login servers down again tonight

Surely, the Customer Service team will link their support page multiple times throughout the night, but I think we all know by now that what's on that page is not the heart of the problem. It might solve the outliers, but it's becoming very clear that the issue is not on our end here.
We'll update you if anything else happens, but hopefully it will just clear up and it won't come to that.

I just got in fine. L2Login, noobs!

I'm having no problem logging in to my account.
I don't think it matters since we are logging in to the same "server" but I'm currently playing on the LA servers.
Was it just me? Apr 1st 2009 8:33PM
Not me and have been unaffected up 'til this point. Disappointed. Blizz support forums - complete waste of time...
ScytheNoire Apr 1st 2009 8:34PM
Is this surprising? Battle.Net has a long history of failures.
Mark Apr 1st 2009 8:40PM
They're back up.
Kalerender Apr 1st 2009 8:41PM
Yep, just logged in via my battlenet login, no issue.

It's more than just the login servers. The billing servers are apparently borked as well.
Account was made inactive today because the new cycle that was supposed to start at 5:55am never happened.. Only way to get it fixed was to cancel the subscription then make a new one with a different CC.

Well I'm glad I didn't "upgrade" to a battle.net account :)
elvendude Apr 1st 2009 9:19PM
Me too!

About 1/2 our guild has been able to login. Some of us with battle.net accounts are in, but others still aren't able to log on.

Battle.net = epic fail
I'm sorry but they should have tested this "feature" for a couple more months before releasing it to the general public. So far, we have seen way to much of this kind of thing happening with accounts on the battle.net side of things.
I'm reminded now of all of the (cough) wonderful (/cough) glitches from patch 3.0.2.

Actually they started testing this system during the WotLK beta.

Uh huh. Here we go again.
This time I had no trouble logging in, and I merged mine into a Battle.net account the first day they made it available a little while back. I had some issues the last time Wowinsider posted something like this, but they were extremely transitory and nowhere near the "ridiculous regularlity" claim someone at Wowinsider seems to enjoy making.
The sky is not falling. Battle.net accounts are not doomed. Please stop spreading rampant paranoia about it until there's actual proof that Battle.net is the sole problem and it's not tied into other issues with login servers and traffic.

I don't know what other proof you need beyond the fact that Battle.net accounts could not log in for an hour and a half tonight, two hours last night, and two and a half hours the day before during primetime while every other type of account could.
The Battle.net servers aren't able to handle the load they've given them, they've underestimated their own numbers yet again. That excuse has gotten old because they've used it for almost every 'oops' they've made over the last four years.
Yeng Apr 2nd 2009 11:25AM
QQ moar n00b. If you don't like it, stop giving them your money. Then there will be less load on the servers for the rest of us.

I had trouble logging in earlier today with my account merged into battle.net, but was logging into my normal account fine. After looking around I found out I wasn't forwarding port 1119, and after forwarding it I was able to log in fine, hope that helps someone.

Is this causing in game lag as well? The whole running in place for 2 minutes deal.
Rilandune Apr 1st 2009 10:42PM
I've experienced a tremendous increase in in-game lag today and this is coming just on the heels of merging my account to a battle.net login. I did not try to log in this evening but rather from my work computer during the day. However, again, the lag was atrocious.
I'm hoping the kinks are worked out when net service is set up at my new house next week and I'm not tapping into a neighbors weak wireless connection.
BigB Apr 1st 2009 11:01PM
I had this problem too around 4:30-5pm pacific and I did the realmlist fix and I was able to login no prob
Ferarro Apr 1st 2009 11:03PM
I'd rather them get the kinks out of this now - when everyone's bored and doing nothing but farmed content before Ulduar - than when I'm trying to log into SC2 and D3 when they come out.
