Hungry Man: Baked Salmon
Robin Torres: I am very excited that we finally get to talk about the new Gamer Grub: Hungry Man's collaboration with Blizzard to bring us in-game WoW foods conveniently. It is really hard for the busy player to fit in a decent playtime schedule while still providing a healthy meal for self and/or family and this is a possible solution.
My favorite is the Baked Salmon. It is not only tasty, it heats up wonderfully in the microwave. Our kitchen here at WoW Insider headquarters is not equipped with a full oven, so this is an added bonus. Salmon is a great food to add to your diet because it is rich in omega3 fatty acids, which is lacking in most western diets, leading to increased cardiovascular disease, cancer and other health issues. So if you don't have time to cook Lisa's delicious looking version, you can now pop a Baked Salmon in the microwave before a boss and be eating during the loot distribution.
It is really great that the makers of our favorite game are thinking of our health and well being as well as their bottom line. Kudos to Blizzard!
Alex Ziebart: Now, I don't know much about the health benefits of these sorts of things, so I'm glad Robin was my partner-in-crime for this particular meal. I'm going to focus mostly on taste here and I'll be brief: It was surprisingly good, but the fish wasn't exactly what you would get at the market and certainly not what you see on the front of the box. It was more like a processed and formed fish patty. The patty reminded me of those salmon steaks that Chicken of the Sea sells in pouches. It tasted good though, and apparently Salmon is good for you, so who am I to complain?
Mine was a little dry, but Robin's was better so I assume I just overcooked it. The garlic was strong, but not in a bad way. Living with an Italian, I've become good friends with garlic. It was comforting! I liked it and I would eat it again.

Happy April Fool's. ;)

Unfortunately... for an instant visions of 'Nom nom nom... '-type vegetarian dinners (for Druids) and Loktar-Ogar!'-type fried "plainstrider" leg and "boar" chops (orc fewd!) flashed through my head. Then... I remembered... April 1. :^(

Pan Apr 1st 2009 11:09AM
Way too obvious, try again
Wulfkin Apr 1st 2009 11:14AM
Obvious april fools is obvious.
T Apr 1st 2009 11:20AM
Is it obvious? We got treated to "Mtn Dew" World of Warcraft soft drinks just last week. That was utterly preposterous yet completely real. This, sadly, is almost believable given the state of Blizzard's merchandising. If this were any other day other than April 1st, I'd have believed it.
Next up: World of Warcraft Dr. Scholls Odor Eaters.
Really, Blizzard at this point would license a goose's ass if they thought some kids down at the local park might see it.

Yeah, what Mr T said.
I almost thought it was real... just a continuation of the mountain dew thing, until I saw the pictures up close.
:(
Bad photoshopping.

How is it preposterous?
Mountain Dew is always promoting something, this isn't the first time
Kampher Apr 1st 2009 11:14AM
Obvious troll is obvious... but hilarious.
Dimmie Apr 1st 2009 11:19AM
You know what the best April Fools joke EVER would be? Not to run any (lame or otherwise) April Fools jokes. You'd have people second guessing themselves all day long. Not to mention you'd save yourself the humiliation of perpetuating this pointless "holiday."

Sounds like someone has had a bad experience, no?
Aoife Apr 1st 2009 11:20AM
Nice April Fool

At least WoWinsider did something for April Fool's Day... I am disappointed at Blizz.
Ohnoto Apr 1st 2009 11:35AM
The day isn't over yet. Head over to the EU site and you'll see one of their April fool jokes
Jason Apr 1st 2009 11:37AM
Guys, obviously we're not going to trust anything that anyone posts today, everything's going to be April Fool's related. It's all in fun - even though you know it's coming, just enjoy it when it happens :)
xavierlives Apr 1st 2009 11:41AM
I heard part of the arrangement is you get 60g in game too, so you can buy Glacier Salmon so you and your toon can enjoy it at the same time!
Scones Apr 1st 2009 11:51AM
Mmm... Salmon. Perfect for you bear druids and kitties!
Pyornthe Apr 1st 2009 11:55AM
So obvious, yet so very amusing. x3
Justin Apr 1st 2009 1:39PM
What the hell is wrong with you people? Are you all so allergic to a little fun? It's April 1st, expect silly gags everywhere. If you don't like it, move on. No need for your "THIS DOES NOT MEET MY APRIL FOOLS EXPECTATIONS" whining.
Yeeeeeeesh!
mibluvr13 Apr 1st 2009 2:03PM
April Fools is less about fooling anyone and more about coming up with something entertaining. Did anyone roll out of bed this morning and NOT expect April Fools jokes? Actual news is more surprising today.
I like it and "obviousness" is irrelevant.
