A video guide to Grid
A member from the guild Inevitable of Feathermoon sent us a link to this video made by a member of their guild, made to make the complicated process much, much more simple and easy to understand. It shows how to configure the mod and tinker with all of the cool little things that it can do for a Healer. It's a long video, nearly 10 minutes, but that's a testament to how robust the mod can be. The creator of the video goes through a lot of steps to customize Grid's UI, and I think it will turn out to be a great resource for those who've never used Grid previously.

This will make a good resource for the upcoming second spec healers out there. Maybe someone will make a mod to switch addon profiles with spec?
To the author: You may wish to attempt to normalize your audio. I'm not sure if it's just that you have a soft voice and a compressor running, but you were difficult to hear and understand. If you're worried you might be too loud, remember that there's a volume slider on youtube were folks can turn you down, but I can't make you any louder without messing with my system volume. Good work :)

You have some really odd preferences imo. However, you did touch on many of the useful aspects of the addon. reat Vid :)

Grid is amazing, the end. That said, I'm glad I had my friends on hand to show me how to use it the first time. :P Kekeke.

What I could use is a good Clique setup video that makes it not click on every other unit frame despite my not having them checked.

Looks like the Background Downloader is starting up after you exit game. Incoming patch day???
elvendude Apr 3rd 2009 8:42PM
Ummm...it's been doing that for nearly a month now?
And how does this have anything to do with Grid? =P
Zeplar Apr 3rd 2009 8:44PM
Nah, the background downloader has been up for weeks. My personal guess is that the patch will be in 3 weeks. Of course, Wowinsider will, as usual, guess that the patch will release next Tuesday. Every tuesday. =P

I went and changed my setting thanks to the video. But, i still can't seem to find everything in one package. Or, i am still not setting stuff up properly.
I use healbot, grid, and xperl.
I find myself using xperl the most...not sure why as i like to click on the target to heal..and see incoming heals from others.
For grid, how do you get the health to show beside the name ..and current hlth vs negative health?

thanks mate :) really good guide! keep it up for more addons :) I'd love a vid for pitbull since i think their config is too much for me to handle :D or ag_unitframe

If by "too complicated" you mean "extremely versatile because it has an amazing array of configurability to suite the preferences of pretty much anyone," then I'd say you're right.

Hey,
I'm the guy who made the video. The complete list of Grid modules I use for my setup is the following:
Grid => obviously :-)
GridManaBars => enables mana/rage/energy/runic bars
GridStatusHots => makes Grid aware of HOTs
GridStatusRaidDebuff => teaches Grid about nasty stuff bosses do
GridStatusReadyCheck => allows Grid to display readycheck info
In you want additional Frame Texture options, you need libSharedMedia-3.0.
I use Pitbull as my Player, Target, Focus, etc frame ... I guess I can put together a video on its configuration in the future if there is an interest. Pitbull probably starts off with the worst initial settings of any mod known to mankind.
Lailie Apr 4th 2009 7:48PM
Could you please make one about pitbull's configuration?? Been using it for a while but haven't really configured it much...
Btw, great video, I think that my guild will appreciate some grid's changes in my settings ;)

question i use grid coner text to track hots etc. i suspect its the reason i cant see a notification for the raid debuff. i get no symbol or dot for the raid debuffs i have selected. is there some priority or setting i need to fix? or will the play together at all?
also i cant alt left click to get rid of the grid drag box thing any thoughts?
