Equipment Manager will not be in 3.1
It looks like Noblegarden started a trend: the Equipment Manager, Blizzard's answer to Outfitter et al., is being delayed and will not be included as part of the upcoming patch 3.1. The cited reason is that "certain issues were encountered...that could not be resolved in time" to be included with the patch, and they would rather delay to "ensure that this feature meets our standard of quality." Does this mean the patch is coming pretty soon? One can only hope.
This is especially disappointing with dual spec coming as a major feature in the patch, and with Outfitter's author pulling the mod from distribution; people will be needing ways to switch sets quickly more than ever. Fortunately, Addon Spotlight has you covered - come on over and read all about some alternatives to Outfitter.
Patch 3.1 brings us Ulduar, dual specs, significant changes to all the classes, and more! We've got you covered from top to bottom with our Guide to Patch 3.1.

my only complaint about naxx is that we paid for an expansion pack, and got recycled content. Sure its retuned for lvl 80, but its recycled 100% none the less. They could have at least given it a full texture update, northrend looks much more detailed then naxx, and i fully expect ulduar to deliver in this aspect, naxx however is just recycled. Don't get me wrong, i like naxx, its fun to play through, but a shame i paid for something that was already there.

hey ass,
There is nothing wrong with Naxx. Go suck a tailpipe

If some random people from the interwebs can make something as good as outfitter, what's stopping Blizz from pumping out an equipment manager before 3.1?
Seriously...how hard much polish can you put on something as utiliatarian as an equipment manager!?
sbe Apr 3rd 2009 9:34PM
No wonder Blizz are so slow with adding new UI features if they can't handle an equipment manager that only has the bare minimum of features to even be qualified as such. I mean, even the simplest equipment manager addon has more features than the Blizz one...

OK, a lot of people are saying Outfitter is going to be removed, or similar things to the same effect. A lot of other addons have had new developers take over when the original stopped updating the addon. There's always that possibility with Outfitter.

Oh yay, so the person who makes Outfitter took down his addon, and Blizzard cancels their version but STILL goes on with their dual spec idea.
Thank god i'm an elemental shaman and don't need to change gear often.

paul.marsico - You SERIOUSLY need to take a break from the game and get some RL social interaction ASAP. It genuinely concerns me there are people like you in this world let alone the damn game!

Come on mate that's just not fair. Naxx is a TINY proportion of the expac content. Wrath's cost per hour of enjoyment is an absolute bargain even when including the monthly sub.

Why can't they just buy Outfitter and add it to the game?"
The new EULA/TOU changes with respect to addons mean that if you publish an addon, Blizz owns your code. They wouldn't need to BUY Outfitter, as they'd already OWN it. They could just copy/paste the code.
I suspect that this was their idea all along, as the Blizz Equipment Manager looks almost exactly the same as Outfitter. Now that the owner/writer of Outfitter has pulled it, Blizz no longer have legal use of his code, hence they'd have to rewrite it or face IP infringement charges from the owner.
That I suspect is the REAL reason that we're not seeing an Equipment Manager in 3.1

Hai. I only read the first page of comments and this is my first time commenting..... so..... don't expect anything.
We're missing:
-Equiptment Manager
-New Dances
-Guild Houses
-One slot infinite Ammo
That is a couple things people were hoping for.
ON ANOTHER COMPLETELY DIFFERENT NOTE!
We got so many other things:
-Ulduar
-Argent Tournament
-Dual Spec
-New spells and abilities
-Class Buffs/Nerfs
-New leet quest tracking system
-Queue for battlegrounds anywhere
-Make sure you have your talents correct before it gets confirmed
-Nice new LFG system
-30 minute hearthstone
Do you reeealy.... REEALY want me to continue? No? Didn't think so. 1... 2... 3... 10 things brought out. And 1... 2... 3... 4 things left out. If i'm correct, which I am, that's OVER half the patch. In fact it's almost 3/4. Not to mention Ulduar is HUGE and the Argent Tournament is pretty big and it would have been hard to fix up every class, while you guys are crying over "QQ we don't get to dance better" or "QQ we don't want to spend 5 minutes to download an addon" or even "QQ i want a house for my guild that people are only going to actually spend time in for the first couple days of the patch and then it will be old and gay".
Hunter: I want my 1 slot ammo. /cry
Not Hunter: Go cry overpowered SOB. Oh wait, you arn't anymore! /cheer
