Around Azeroth: I'll send an SOS to the world
This may be another one of those things everyone knows about but me, but what the hey. While using Farsight to scan the highest peak north of Thunder Bluff, Eggers of Scilla discovered this message carved into mountaintop, presumably written by a Blizzard employee locked in the offices over a weekend. It's on the two-peaked mountain visible from the northern part of Thunder Bluff, and it's only about three chain Farsights away with your view distance turned up to maximum. Eggers even made a handy guide on how to see it, available to all and sundry on YouTube.
Do you have any unusual, clever, or interesting World of Warcraft images that are just collecting dust in your screenshots folder? We'd love to see them on Around Azeroth! Sharing your screenshot is as simple as e-mailing aroundazeroth@wow.com with a copy of your shot and a brief explanation of the scene. You could be featured here next!
Remember to include your player name, server and/or guild if you want it mentioned. Please include the word "Azeroth" in your post so it does not get swept into the spam bin. We strongly prefer full screen shots without the UI showing -- use alt-Z to remove it. Please, no more battleground scoreboards, double-mounts, or pictures of the Ninja Turtles in Dalaran.

I had no idea that this existed, but that's pretty neat. :D
Heilig Apr 4th 2009 10:13AM
And I had no idea you could chain far sight like that! Looks like I know what I'm doing this weekend.
Ed Apr 4th 2009 11:02AM
And for you hunters out there, you can chain eagle eye using the following macro!

"Help, I've been kidnapped by Blizzard and they're making me do terrain development."
Or maybe there's a lore reason, something like...
"I like making fjords, I got an award for Norway."

It makes me wonder if he got away with it because whoever checked his work has red/green color blindness and didn't see it. =D
TheSloth Apr 4th 2009 10:47AM
I'm color blind and I can't experience this part of the game. I'm suing! ;-)
Coen Apr 4th 2009 12:26PM
Yep, I have the same problem of being colorblind, mild version though, and had too look really carefully to find what was so special about it.

Doubtful. I'm not colorblind and I still had to look closely - not only are the letters roughly the same brightness as the surrounding area, they're a similar texture as well, making it tricky to tell what's written even if it is in a slightly different color.
Munky Apr 4th 2009 1:43PM
@Ametrine: If you had a hard time seeing it, you may want to see a doctor as you may be colorblind to an extent. The HELP is pretty clear. Or, you need to adjust your monitor settings. Hopefully that's all it is.

FYI I am red/green color blind and I can just make it out too. If you are having trouble seeing it you might want to head over to

or

Then again you could just live blissfully ignorant because there is nothing you can do about it.
Calophi Apr 4th 2009 8:15PM
@Ametrine: The red and green are as clear as day to me, even though they have a similar texture. It might be a good idea to visit your eye doctor and have him/her check you out.

WOW!
Also... I love The Police reference... so much...
l2eset Apr 4th 2009 1:55PM
There is a HELP sign like that on a mountain near Ironforge too.

How do you chain cast Farsights?
Drahliana Apr 8th 2009 1:02AM
Chaining Far Sight is easy. Cast your first Far Sight and then cast and set a target while the first one is going. It's similar to chain casting Mind Vision for Priests. I'd never been able to do that with Eagle Eye. I'll have to try the macro.
