What..wait...? A female being strong and going along with things to help destroy the actual bad guy but TELEPORTING A WHOLE ARMY away from a city in order to stop a war for the sake of her people as well is...annoying? It's one of the -strongest- examples of Jaina's inherent compassion and yet the fact that she's not someone that can be pushed around by any male. Plus, her conversations with Thrall throughout the events are absolutely adorable, and I admit I got a fangirl squeal there too. Jaina is the ONLY female in World of Warcraft I like. Tyrande is too stereoytypical harsh female, despite supposedly 'missing her heart' with Malfurion. Sylvanaas is sympathetic, totally, and the Wrath gate event actually made me like her a bit more, but she's just as revenge driven as Arthas and it killed alot of innocent people because she wasn't paying attention to her own city and the corruption in it.
Jaina? Gives Thrall permission to kill her own father, defies the 'leader' of the Alliance by flat out just teleporting him with no argument. Isn't it indicative of how she's matured even since the Culling of Stratholme? I always thought it dramatically contrasted. Before, she says, "I can't watch you do this" and she WALKS AWAY. I've always hated how she proclaims she won't be a part of it and she isn't - she doesn't try to STOP it either. This time, to prevent a war and to save Thrall, she defies someone who she does know and who she has been working with and who is a fellow human. She defies them, and peacefully prevents the start of the war being an Alliance act.
This, of course, changes in Icecrown where the war begins again in earnest- this time, no one can pretend it was anyone but the Horde and ambushing the Alliance when they were trying to go against an enemy that SHOULD be shared. Which, by the way, after reading both sides... was anyone else as shocked as I was that the Horde actually did that? I read the other side because I was -certain- it was a misunderstanding. Finding out the dying horde gloat about the fact they did it... and what the horde ask you to do while dying as opposed to what the Alliance ask you to do... really does make the Horde look awful. I think it's one of the most definitive "Horde are evil" quests in the game and I really wish it wasn't there or Thrall would show up and actually thrash Hellscream for letting things get that out of control up there.
