I don't know what the alliance does in that little event, but watching Thrall have the elements completely dominate things while Slyvanus was able to demolish things that full raids would have issues with makes me think that he wasn't going to beat them so easily. They were in enemy territory, attacking a group that had just defeated a Dread Lord that had been planning on their attack for years and if they had beaten Thrall it would have actually been worse. Thrall is the only thing stopping Hellscream and if they had killed Thrall, the chances that Saurfang would have been sent to pay Wyrnn a visit would have been pretty good. And as most people in Trade will tell you, the only thing that scares Chuck Norris is Saurfang.
