"without being a know-it-all or a Mary Sue"http://www.wowinsider.com/2008/03/10/all-the-worlds-a-stage-theres-something-about-mary-sue/"who rely on clichés, melodrama, and/or supposed intimate relationships with one or more characters in the original story to such a degree that they actually try to upstage those characters, their fellow roleplayers, and indeed, the entirety of the original lore."How in the HELL can one of the key figures in the lore be a "Mary Sue"? Do you people speak English natively?

Richard Knaak's "major lore characters" are almost all Mary Sue characters. Check out Rhonin, who's friends with or mentor to every major lore character in the whole damned WoW universe. A Mary Sue needn't be a new character, though. If you're not familiar with the use of the term "Mary Sue" to describe author self-insertion, into characters established or otherwise, I'm not sure you're qualified to question Daniel's understanding of English. :)
