I'll assume that you've never played Horde rather than assume your very unobservant.
Many, MANY Horde quests given or involving the RAS have strong hints that something is rotten in the state of Lorderon. From as early as Brill's level 5 quests and particularly in Tarren Mill, It's clear the RAS is out to destroy all of the truly living. In fact, many RAS NPCs audible farewell is "Death to the Living!" Not death to the Alliance, death to the LIVING.
As a Forsaken player myself, I have always been waiting for this to happen, as it has been forshadowed for years. I like to think of my toon as a purehearted hero and I think that many Forsaken are, but the RAS always has been and always will be as vile and traitorous as the Scarlet Crusade.
