When will people learn that the Emerald Dream couldn't be a continent because it is geographically EXACTLY THE SAME AS AZEROTH. I really wouldn't want to just run thru a zone that is just an alternative reality (essentially what the dream is) to boring old Loch Modan.

It wouldn't actually have to be the size of actual Azeroth. They could just say that the Nightmare ate up most of the Emerald Dream, Nothing-style.

The Emerald Dream is Azeroth as if its sapient races had not existed/developed. I imagine it would resemble Azeroth pre-Sundering. There would be no Eastern Kingdoms, Kalimdor, or Northrend--and thus no Maelstrom--but all one giant continent. The Maelstrom was wrought by high elven hands, in particular Azshara. If there had been no Maelstrom, there would be no need for the Emerald Dream.Interestingly, while there are four Great Trees in Azeroth (Duskwood (Twilight Grove), Feralas (Dream Bough), Hinterlands (Seradane), Ashenvale (Bough Shadow)), there is a fifth Great Tree in Northrend: Crystalsong Forest (The Great Tree). Unlike the other four, there is no portal and it is not being guarded by green dragons, but all Great Trees are saplings of The World Tree, Nordrassil.Very interesting, indeed.
