Breakfast Topic: Is your guild prepared for Patch 3.1?
There is a lot of speculation that patch 3.1 will drop tomorrow. I'm not really buying into that speculation yet, but the background downloader was active over the weekend delivering up another part of the patch files. That is a strong indication that the patch is nearing, and at the least means guilds should start ramping up their preparation to push into Ulduar. For many hard core raiding guilds this means making sure the right members will be on and fully buffed and ready for lots of raiding as soon as Ulduar opens up. Equally important is making sure that reserves and alternates are available so progression raids don't grind to a halt.
For the casual guilds this means ensuring people are aware there's a new patch and some new content to experience, and getting ready to grind out a bit of things folks haven't done before while dealing with an abnormal number of wipes.
Of course, that's just some hasty generalizations about each type of guild – there are many similarities between both types. Either way you look at it, the introduction of a new raid instance means having to get folks ready and organized.
Is your guild prepared for Ulduar?
Mine isn't. /grumbleaboutguildraiding

Are we ready? I think so? Sort of? I guess we'll find out soon. ;)
I selfishly hope it doesn't drop tomorrow, though, since I still haven't gotten Kel'thuzad or Malygos to drop either of the weapons I want from them. :(

It's really hard to say how ready we'll be. Gear-wise, I think we're all good enough for Ulduar, but attendance for raids has been piss-poor lately. Too many people have been getting bored or burnt out with WoW. In just a matter of weeks we've gone from working on Sarth 3D to having to effectively pug Naxx because of people not showing up for raids anymore, leaving the game, etc.
I imagine that that when Ulduar is released people will come back. But I'm worried that we'll just clear the normal modes, people will get the gear they want, and go back into hibernation.
I'm hoping that Algalon gives people more motivation to want to work on the hard modes of some bosses. But I guess I can just find 10 hardcore people in the guild and work on 10-man hard modes. Or worst case, go back and do hard modes and Algalon once 3.2 comes out.

Been good reading this to see that my guild isnt the only one having severe attendance issues.
Theres only so many times one can 15 man spidey and plague wings only to then give up cause you just cant get the dps or hps to go any further with so few players, before it all starts to wear very very thin.
Id say our guild is ready for 10 man ulduar, though it might be difficult to get a regular place since I havent done 10 mans with them previously (though im one of the top 2 dps in 25 mans so who knows).
At the current rate 25 man ulduar is a long way off...
The personal dilemma is if im left out of 10 mans, and 25 mans fail id probably have to gquit, but what good guild would take a dps warrior after all the massive fury nerfs?
*sigh*
