I second this. Levelling your blacksmithing up before Northrend may seem tedious, but it means once you step off the zeppelin you can quickly make yourself a seriously nice set of blue gear which beats most quest rewards. When you get up to high 70's you can do the same again, and then make yourself a few cool epics before you've even looked at a heroic instance.
