Boltzmann asked...
"Has Blizzard ever said anything about the prospect of allowing Bind on Account items to be transferred to different servers? It'd be sweet to be able to level a Death Knight on a friend's server and start out with the good gear."
As Kadamon mentioned in the comments, the only way to do it right now is to create a character on the server that you've got the items on already and transfer that new toon to your new server. That works.
There is no inter-server mail however. That's something that Blizzard has always said isn't implemented "right now," which leads me to believe it could be implemented in the future. High on the priority list? Probably not. Likely feature for the next expansion? I could see it, I could not. I suspect that if we do see it, we'll see it come about when they introduce account wide achievements.
Milkgas asked...
"Does spellpower affect damage with wands like attack power affects damage with melee weapons? Is there any way to increase wand damage?"
Spellpower does not affect wand damage, and there is nothing that currently increases wand damage either. In my opinion, wands are in need of an overhaul. Prior to patch 1.5 you couldn't auto shoot wands – that was beyond a pain in the butt. And while they're more useful now via stats and giving you something to do during long mana-regen periods, they still could be much more fun.
Maybe if I could twirl it around like a baton or something. That'd be cool. Dance studio. Bears. Beets. Battlestar Galactica.
Saberix asked...
"Arms warrior DPS in raids is pretty low, I am wondering where we should be currently, and where we should be in 3.1?"
Go clean my room so if I do come home for Easter I have someplace to stay. K. Thx. Bai.
Well... what did you expect I was going to say to my brother?
But to seriously answer the question, go respect fury for greater PvE success. I've seen arms warriors on average do around 2800dps, and fury warriors do around 3200dps (both have a good amount of 25-man gear). Of course, these numbers are very relative to the situation you're in. But comparatively the trend seems to be fury above arms.
There's also the side note here that gear selection can play a major factor. Be certain you're at the hit cap for level 83 mobs, and that you're utilizing arms based gear over fury gear whenever possible. Additionally when dealing with trash, make sure the priority is executing AoE based skills whenever possible.
One thing that always makes me scratch my head with warriors is why they grade themselves on trash performance or fights where you move around a bunch. A warrior performs best when they're able to stand in one place and knock the living bejebus out of a boss. So with that in mind, run some combat log parses of a fight like Patchwerk and see where you are at. And don't, by any means, expect your numbers to be good while doing something like the safety dance.

currently there is no real average for arms dps due to the huge RNG factor. Seriously I've done fights where I did 2k damage pretty much only autoswinging, other fights I get back to back overpowers and executes and my dps is 5k. I find I average about 3k in 25's which is indeed lower than fury warriors of equal gearing
haven't played the PTR but hopefully the foreced Overpower rotation will significantly up our average dps what with Overpower easily reaching 100% crit.

Yeah, how the hell am i supposed to lvl a horide when all my BoA items are on Ally?
It makes me a sad panda. :(

What's with the big stove hatch on the opposite side of the Alliance emblem on top of King Varians Throne?

I've recently started doing battlegrounds, namely Strand of the Ancients. One thing that I can't figure out is how the honour totals are calculated at the end of each battle.I see people with less HK's getting more honour than me.
At first I thought it had to do with them destroying vehicles and gates but again people who hadn't completed these objectives would be above me on the honour gains.
So finally my question is how exactly are honour totals calculated in battlegrounds? I realise the answer is probably different for each one but a general rule would be helpful.
Rob Apr 6th 2009 2:05PM
I haven't done Strand yet (shocking, i know), but anyway i'm a AV vet (altrec valley). You get HPs from things like capping a graveyard, or capping a tower. You don't get any honor if the opponent caps it back from you while it is still neutral. But yeah back in the day i would routinely try to cap towers, and often ended up with very high HP despite hardly killing anyone. Perhaps strand is the same way.
Another thought is that it may have to do with total damage or total healing. I'm not sure at all, just throwing this out there.
AyaJulia Apr 6th 2009 2:10PM
Damage/Healing definitely is a contributing factor. I often find that on my priest, I get focused down in a large group rather quickly (particularly since I rarely PvP and have little gear for it)... but even though I'm dead/waiting for res while the battle is still raging and the HKs are tallying up for everyone but me, I'll get a really great honor total simply because of the crazy amounts of healing I did while I was tanking the Alliance. :)
TyKell Apr 6th 2009 3:08PM
Huh ok thanks guys that makes a alot of sense actually now that I think about it. My gear is shoddy and so I'm always lower on the list of damage dealt. I don't see any problem with awarding damage and healing. But maybe the weighting of it is a bit off? In one match I had destroyed 2 gates and 1 demolisher and there was still people above me who had more honour and less hit kills.
I think it would be a good idea to put more onus on the objectives especially in Strand cos a lot of people just don't bother with the vehicles, bit I digress.
Thanks again for the info. Oh and Rob you should definitely play SotA, it's good fast fun.

Calculated from [(Honorable Kills + Time Spent in Combat + Number of enemy players killed in their graveyard) * (Number of times shouting instructions in all caps + frequency of the word NOOB used in BG chat + seconds spent AFK while alt-tabbed) * (amount of time spent in proximity of 90% of the rest of your team + number of times ignoring objectives)] / (Combined number of DKs and Ret Pallies on your team)
Or maybe that's just the way it seems on my battlegroup.

Pandaren. Chinese/Panda violence rumor. Kill it for me. Use facts. I know I know it gets asked a million times. But please kill it again.

I have a question that is similar to Bind on Account. At the Second Blizzcon we received a Murloc Costume. This was before the idea of Achievements had be introduced. I gave the Costume to an Alliance Char on Kil'Jaeden. Since then I have switched to Horde and would like the Achievement on my Horde Character.
I have spoken to Blizzard, but they say they cannot transfer the ownership of the Costume across Factions.
My Question is, do you think Blizzard will ever reconsider items like this that were one time bind to one character now that they have introduced Achievements?
Mindreaver Apr 6th 2009 2:00PM
I like you never answered his question about where arms is in 3.1, but instead just linked some random dps (terrible dps numbers for a warrior BTW) from some 25s??
Arms will be pretty competitive, especially mace spec, with the changes to battle stance (not to mention the armor pen changes). You might be surprised who the top PvE damage spec is once we get rolling through ulduar.
You didn't even mention the nerfs to fury. I mean come on, somebody asks about dps warrriors and what it will be like in 3.1, and there not even mention "Titan's Grip"? Terrible adam... really.
Firestride Apr 6th 2009 2:43PM
Hey now, he did manage to point out that Fury DPS is currently better than Arms, and that you should try to get to the hit cap. That's not information you can find just anywhere!
Thander Apr 6th 2009 5:40PM
Yeah, you should have just pointed him to Rossi's recent post about Arms. Apparently, it's pretty close to fury now although the rotation seems to be harder to master.

Who are pandaren
Erogroth Apr 6th 2009 2:08PM
They are a panda like race that do Kung Fu. I may be wrong but I think they are in some of the novels. Not sure if they made it into WC3 or not. They probably will never make it into WoW though cause it will piss China off or something.
AyaJulia Apr 6th 2009 2:18PM
Troll? Hm.
@Erogoth: Yes, they did. From http://www.wowwiki.com/Pandaren_Brewmaster
"In the fourth mission of the Sentinels campaign a pandaren was in the Pandaren Brewing area in southwest corner of the map. He gave Maiev Shadowsong a Slipper of Agility +3, before closing up his shop.
"Chen Stormstout is the most prominently featured Brewmaster and is present throughout the bonus campaign, albeit only if you complete an optional quest to recruit him.
"Two brewmasters appear in the Blood Elf campaign. In the secret mission, one shows up in the final wave to try to stop the blood elves from escaping through the portal. The second one is a secret character. To get the Brewmaster, however, the player must survive all the waves of attackers on the tower defense style secret level, including defeating the alliance allied Pandaren. If successful, they'll control not only Kael & Vashj during the next mission, but also a random-named brewmaster. "
Hansbo Apr 6th 2009 3:32PM
The Pandaren were originally introduced as an april 1st joke. They were later on added in WC3, like Aya said.
Kakistocracy Apr 7th 2009 1:50PM
NOt just WC3,

With a picture like that you couldn't come up with some witty comments. That is such a perfect pic and that is exactly how I feel today.

Bears. BEETS. Battlestar Galactica.
Considering that Dwight is, you know - a BEET farmer.
