BRK fans post a goodbye video
A little while after BigRedKitty closed shop on his blog last week, there was another post from TJ on there asking for help with a "secret project" (that lots of you let us know about -- thanks!). And now, the secret has been revealed: a few of BRK's fans have put together a goodbye video for the knowledgeable Hunter with the big red cat, and you can watch the whole thing above.
Very touching, and very cool to see a community come together to thank someone who's done a lot for them. BRK also reported on his blog this week that he hasn't left Warcraft for good, but it does sound like the choice to focus on his real life and family rather than what happens in Azeroth was an excellent one. We've also heard, through the grapevine, that Blizzard may be honoring BRK in their own way in the future, much like they did with Phaelia of Resto4Life. We'll keep an eye out for nay Big Red items we may come across.

Farewell BRK.
I hope to find you wrapped up in the next Warcraft game. May that day be soon.

I feel so sappy! I cried watching this video! Good luck BRK and good for you for making the right choice. Oh and this also got me to post under my baby hunter's name :)

Maybe I've been around WoW for too long, but it seems like a lot of famous citizens of WoW are leaving "for family reasons" lately.
A lot of my guildmates seem to be getting bored of WoW as well. Even moreso than when we were waiting for WotLK to arrive. I usually don't doom-and-gloom, but I feel like something's up lately with WoW.

I've enjoyed his humour and I do miss his contributions.
But he made a great and very important step and I respect him very much for it.

BRK will be sorely missed in both the Hunter community as well as the overall community. More than just his helpful advice, BRK was an extremely funny entertainer, with his "BRK v. BRK's Brain" posts being some of the best WoW-related blog posts on the internet.
It's good to hear that he hasn't entirely left the game, as well as how this change has been a very positive one for him. TJ's video (with fan submissions) was an excellent endpoint for a fantastic blogger.

I think the right honor would be a noncombat pet or a specific pet for hunters that is indeed a big red kitty.

BRK did more for hunters than anybody else in the community. He deserves in game recognition. Blizzard, are you listening?

My thing was cut out. :(
Any Apr 7th 2009 4:26PM
Nothing was "cut out." TJ said she put the screen shots/photos/videos in the tribute in the order she received them....and obviously ran out of room, lest the tribute go on for much much longer. She did state that ALL of the screen shots/photos/videos would be forwarded on to BRK with proper attribution.
So cheer up.....in the tribute video? No. Passed on to BRK? Absolutely!! (Mine got "cut" too) :)
