Argent Tournament Dailies: A Valiant's Field Training

This is one of the quickest and easiest dailies to complete for your Argent Tournament prestige. The questgiver asks simply that you kill 10 Scourge units in Icecrown.
Remember, in 3.1 any mob that will grant you quest credit will show as much on their tooltip when you mouseover them. Use this to your advantage and don't waste your time with an AOE pack that won't give you credit!
Given its close proximity to the Tournament grounds, many players are likely to flock to Sindragosa's Fall to kill the Scourge mobs there, including Frostbrood Whelps and Cultist Corrupters. You have some other choices, though -- the Valley of Lost Hope is chock-full of mobs that grant quest credit, as is Aldur'thar, and both are close enough to the Grounds that you don't need to fly all around the zone just to get your quest done.
Crack some Scourge skulls and grab your reward!
Reward: 1 Valiant's Seal and 13g 23s
Editor's note from Alex Ziebart: I happen to like doing the Shadow Vault dailies side-by-side with this one. The vrykul for Leave Our Mark count as Scourge for this quest!

What are the tournament quests that give faction city rep?
sephirah Apr 9th 2009 9:21AM
Not totally on topic, but anyone knows if the Argent Tournament quests count for the "Icecrown: The Final Goal" achievement?
Amaxe Apr 9th 2009 11:45AM
If they are dailies, I think not. If they have a "Initial quest" before you can start to do dailies then I think those would count.
(Those 5 mans in Icecrown are a PITA, aren't they?)
sephirah Apr 9th 2009 12:27PM
Sure, I was referring to the non dailies to skip the IC group quests... :)
I only miss ~15 quests to become Loremaster, and I have only the group quests in IC left.
Oh well, if the AT quests won't count I suppose my second spec will be for soloing 5 men quests...

Are they implementing anything that will give Venomspite or Tauka reputation. I have Warsong Offensive to exalted, and I've heard that the Argent Tournament has some daily quests that will give Sunreaver reputation. I'm just hoping there will be some way that will allow me to get the other two horde factions in Northrend up to exalted.

I can't stop wondering how long the tournament will last. Is it going to be like Q'D and stay or will it only be available for a month or two?
Tinwhisker Apr 9th 2009 9:51AM
It's my understanding that the Aspirant->Champion dailies and the associated rep will be around forever but each new content patch for WotLK will ass new things to the Argent Tournament.
So expect to see new stuff added in 3.2 and 3.3.

I fail at keyboard apparently.

At least it was a funny typo :D
BulletzBill Apr 9th 2009 10:15AM
Yeah I'm assuming these initial quests will always be there for people just getting into the tournament, but with each new content patch, more and more will be added to it. As the screenshots show, the construction of the colosseum structure has just started, and Blizz has stated that this is only a precursor to much bigger and grander things to come.

It won't advance for a while, they said no further construction of the Argent Tournament Grouds is in 3.1. We'll have to wait for like 3.1.x(or even 3.2) to see our dailies actually mean anything to the Grounds.

Sort of a sidetrack here...
I am under the (maybe false) impression that the spawn rate for ore nodes is tied to the amount of players in a zone.
If that is true, does this mean that the ore nodes are gonna be spawning like crazy in Icecrown when this Argent Tournament goes live?
spacedrabbit Apr 9th 2009 12:18PM
i dont believe this is the case. spawn rates on nodes depend on their own timers
Mognet T Apr 9th 2009 11:02AM
Nice and simple. I like the way this quest ties into the idea that this tourney isn't about having un, it's about killing the scourge.
AltairAntares Apr 9th 2009 12:18PM
Are the chargers mounts only for the tourney, or for general use as well?
Bootsanator Apr 9th 2009 12:51PM
I think a nice "overview" of these dailies would be a good article, if you could.
Maybe along the lines of:
1. You started the tournament, you're a *insert rank*
2. You can do these dailies --------
3. You did enough dailies that you earned this ****
4. Now you can do this.
5. Etc.

Finally a daily that sounds like it doesn't totally suck ass.
I hate the dailies in Icecrown...I really do. Almost every one has an element of RNG that will screw you if it gets the chance or they're just annoying in general.
"Drag and Drop" - A lot of times some idiots kills all the subjugators leaving you standing around waiting for respawns.
"That's Abominable" - I don't even do this one anymore because some sort of bug prevents me from getting kill credit half the time.
"Blood of the Chosen" - Only 13g for killing 20 Vykrul? Wtf? Not to mention the falconer bitches where you have to kill them AND their stupid bird.
"Leave Our Mark" - More Vykrul killing! Except this time you have to remember to throw a banner into every single one you kill! Hooray!
"Shoot 'Em Up" - This quest would actually be fun if there wasn't always 4 people trying to do it at the same time.
"Slaves to Saronite" - I think we all know why this quest sucks.
And the other quests I didn't mention really aren't too bad. Blizz needs to make all the quest that say "kill 20/15 of this" into "kill 10/12 of this". I'm a rogue...mobs drop pretty quickly for me, but honestly killing 20 mobs is just exasperating...it's actually the lag time running/flying between mobs that I hate more than anything.
Dailies in WotLK suck...pretty much all of them. 13g? that's like 1g more than I was making in BC for doing much, MUCH less work! it should be around 18g-20g for each daily, not this 13g bullshit. I don't know why, but blizz needs to realize that if they're going to have a quest that people can do EVERY DAY it better not be annoying as hell because people will just get tired of it really quickly.

Dude, ready? Breath in... and breath out... breath in... and now breath out..

The dailies that were conducted entirely on Quel'Danas were pretty quick-n-easy, but I found the others, like the Netherwing dailies, the Cooking daily, and the other SSO quests (the ones that required flying all over Outland for forage for supplies) to be at least as time-consuming, poorly described, or random-drop-dependent as anything in Wrath.
I see your point about the payouts; 3.0 changed it so you get either the quest reward or the EXP-to-cash conversion, whichever is greater, but the increase in payouts isn't as high as the increase in our cost of living. However, if payouts were higher, Auction House prices would increase as well, so we wouldn't be that much better off.
