Extended maintenance for Tuesday April 14th
The server alert tonight is letting us know that there will be extended maintenance for all realms from 3:00 a.m. PDT / 6:00 a.m. EDT to 11:00 a.m. PDT / 2:00 p.m. EDT. However, there are several realms listed after the break that will be down starting at 1:00 a.m. PDT / 4:00 a.m. PDT instead. There is no official announcement yet of patch 3.1 dropping tomorrow, but as we said before (and as is being confirmed by the recent flurry of new information), many folks both publicly and privately are telling us it's dropping tomorrow.
Stay tuned tonight as the WoW Insider staff will be staying up all night to bring you the very latest, and don't forget to check out the WoW Insider Guide to Patch 3.1 for all the patch information.

April, not March /sigh
Lorsty Apr 13th 2009 10:29PM
Uhmm, maybe we will have extended maintenance 1 month ago.
Or maybe we won't have maintenance until march 2010...

It would've been nice to get new content a month ago =/
Gizza Apr 13th 2009 10:29PM
It says the extended downtime is only for the realms listed below, not all realms /sigh hopefully the patch will be tomorrow but who knows.

No, ALL realms are getting extended maintenance, the times are just staggered.

The patch has been out for a month and we haven't realised it yet? Crafty Blizzard, lol.
Hoggersbud Apr 13th 2009 10:31PM
So what are all these people predicting a patch tomorrow going to do if it doesn't drop? Eat a hat? Yell at their shoes?

Playing devil's advocate for a second here:
What if 10-man "hard" modes dropped 25-man loot (or better)?
Make all the loot available to everyone, not based on the number of people, but the skill of the players.
Bal* Apr 13th 2009 11:08PM
Wow... ignore the post above, I have no idea how it got here, as it was a post I made on another topic last week!
Ok, so what I wanted to post, was that I just launched the Blizzard downloader, and as of right now I am downloading "WoW-3.0.9.9551-to-3.1.0-enUS-patch".
Cy Apr 13th 2009 11:12PM
That's been available for background downloading for weeks now.
Bal* Apr 13th 2009 11:16PM
Ok, thanks Cy. I just never use the background downloader, and launched it tonight to just see what would happen.
I knew that they were allowing parts of the patch to be downloaded in the background, but I didn't realize they'd be named the same as the patch.
Hoggersbud Apr 13th 2009 11:20PM
Yup, and that 3.1.a will be updated 3.10.b tomorrow if the patch does drop. Or even 3.1.c if needed.
Cy Apr 13th 2009 11:15PM
Sad that Blizz is pushing this content live so quickly. This still could use another week of testing.
On the bright side, it shouldn't be quite as bad as the 3.0.x disasters. Then again, that's not a high mark to hit either.

Looks like I'm off to the driving range tonight (Australian time that is). =)

Q u o t e:
so all these posts about 3.1 and maintenance tommorow mean 3.1 is going live tommorow right.
Dont joke around with this all knowing skull, the public wants to know.
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
That is the plan. :)
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Q u o t e:
not all realms have extended maintenance
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
All realms have extended maintenance. The realms listed in my original post have maintenance extended an extra two hours, beginning at 1:00 AM PDT.
