Official Ulduar cinematic revealed

The first thing that struck me is the new face on Jaina. It looks... unpleasant. That's just me, though! It might just take some time to get used to it. Beyond that, the trailer is very very cool, and keeps the Alliance/Horde conflict in the forefront despite the departure from it for the raid zone. It reinforces my thoughts that Varian's hatred of the Horde is never going to be repaired until Garrosh is out of the picture. It also displays that the war on Ulduar isn't being supported by either the Horde or the Alliance: We're in this thing on our own. I also seem to hate Rhonin much less when Blizzard is writing his dialogue.
Thanks to everyone who wrote in about this!

I don't think that the patch will be up tomorrow, as it has been announced that only a few realms will be down for extended maintenance tomorrow

Only some realms go down at 1 for really extended maintenance but the rest go down at 3 AM for extended maintenance. So yes tomorrow is patch day.
Graham Apr 13th 2009 11:07PM
Every realm is getting the same extended maintenance, the times are just staggered. Read it carefully :P

I like this new type of trailer. A lot more backstory about why we would be there in the first place.

I agree. This trailer got me all excited about going into Ulduar. Let's hope that the patch goes smoothly.

Would be very upset if it dropped tonight since I cant make my guilds Wednesday night raid :(
Lorgash Apr 13th 2009 10:17PM
OMG, Awesome Trailer!!!!! I can't wait for the Patch!

Dam no edit button.
This will be the first time I have missed a Wednesday night raid. Would be very disappointed if its the time 3.1 drops!

I think they need to put more vids like this in the game. It's nice to finish a quest and see a short video.
crossing my fingers for 3.1 to be here tomorrow, it would be a nice post-Easter gift since they took Noble Gardens off the Calendar :)

After that video, I had to change pants.

That was pure win. Kudos to the event writers at Blizz.

Dammit, Jaina, you don't use "whom" that way!
Someloser Apr 13th 2009 10:21PM
Pretty awesome trailer. The models looked a bit weird, but I guess that's because of the difference to the normal models.
I really liked the Alliance v.s. Horde stuff, though the battle that occurred seemed a bit...random. (okay, we got a horrible monster inside Ulduar, we need to-THRAAAAAAAAAAAAL)
also, Brann's group wiped on Kologarn. Beat him, your group is better than his. Yeah.
vinniedcleaner Apr 13th 2009 10:48PM
It's not exactly random... they've worked the aftermath from events from the comics into the trailer....
(How many other people said 'oh sh*t' when Jaina looked down and saw Thrall and Garrosh heading in?)
Gulbrandt Apr 14th 2009 1:31AM
It wasn't entirely random. Grommash Hellscream is kind of a jerk and very hot-headed. :)
RyuHakubi Apr 14th 2009 4:09PM
And for all the Varian-hatah's, he may be a bit of a jerk, a bit hot-headed and likely to see the worst in the Horde...
...but who swung first?
Garrosh needs a pimp-slap, preferably from the spirit of his bad-ass daddy.
Draol Apr 14th 2009 4:11PM
You mean Garrosh.
Grommash was his father.
