Patch 3.1 confirmed for tomorrow
The blues have confirmed that patch 3.1 will be released tomorrow. Zarhym said as much in a post a few moments ago.You can check out the full and final patch notes (Part I and Part II), and also take a look at WoW Insider's Guide to Patch 3.1 for all the latest information.
The realms will be down for extended maintenance tomorrow, and we're all hopeful that won't turn into some disaster like we've seen on previous patch days... but no one is betting any money on the success of the process right now.
Stay tuned to WoW Insider throughout the evening and tomorrow for the latest!

I for one welcome my upcoming nerfs. Though, when all is said and done, pallys will prevail.
Braundo Apr 14th 2009 12:05AM
The patch won't be until the end of May! The PTR is still up! Plus all of those forum trolls couldn't have been wrong!

This is messed up IMO. Most of the hardcore raiders/more serious players took breaks from WoW because of the easy content and are dorment waiting for the release of this. Now with a "sudden" release like this people are unprepared and unreachable on such short notice. So now, the things people have been waiting to do such as "Server First" achievements will be unattainable because they are not contactable on such short notice. Blizzard has given atleast a 1 week notice before ANY release in the past, Congratulations blizzard on pushing your top players further off this game welcoming more "Casual" aka "Come and Go" players with open arms.

Awwww...ain't that too bad for you...
The Artist formally known as Jesus Apr 14th 2009 12:14AM
Hardcore raiders don't take breaks. :P
Steven Apr 14th 2009 12:17AM
Wait... what?
You are saying hardcore raiders left. Therefore they will be unable to get the server firsts. If they are not playing, how are they "hardcore"?
"serious players took breaks from WoW"
"...pushing your top players further off this game welcoming more "Casual" aka "Come and Go" players with open arms."
--- Something is askew!
It's not like this is new news- they knew it was coming. If they decided to leave, it's their bad. Shortsightedness is not win.
Samedji Apr 14th 2009 12:18AM
^ This.
Blizzard isn't pushing anyone out of the game, because people who have been following the patch dropping (and are as hardcore as you claim) already have all of the supplies necessary for their server first runs tomorrow. They've been waiting for the patch to drop, and they're probably reading this right now.
MusedMoose Apr 14th 2009 12:21AM
And yet... somehow... life goes on.
Sorry, I just find it difficult to find any sympathy for people who'd whine about "sudden" patch releases. Gods forbid that someone whom the so-called elites would call unworthy *GASP!* get a server first! The horror, the horror!
Besides, as said above, anyone who was truly concerned about such things would never have risked not getting them by taking time away from the game.
Key word here: "game." Relax, 'cause that's all it is. It's a game. Go play, have fun.
jaladin Apr 14th 2009 12:53AM
Bliz has always given 1 week notice on patches?
What game have you been playing? It certainly hasn't been World of Warcraft.
Gulbrandt Apr 14th 2009 1:17AM
Actually, Blizzard has frequently not announced until the very last minute when patches would come out. I'm surprised we found out the night before. There were times we'd find out during the maintenance period that it was indeed Patch Day.
zweitblom Apr 14th 2009 7:37AM
Go play something already, please.
