Patch notes incorrect: Equipment Manager will not be part of patch 3.1

The official 3.1 patch notes for the live realms states that the equipment manager is now active. The patch preview website that went live says it isn't, and a blue post from a couple weeks ago was the first announcement that it won't be going live in patch 3.1 yet.So then why is the equipment manager in the patch notes?
The patch notes are wrong in this instance.
Zarhym/Floating-Red-Skull confirmed as much last night, and it's important to note that there might be a few other posts like this one throughout the day. In some cases patch notes can be incorrect in the finer points of the patch. This is one of those cases.

This isn't the first time this has happened. Looks like we'll get in a later patch, since obviously it was intended to be included in this time.

They forgot to delete one line from 20 pages of patch notes. It's hardly a herald of WoW's demise. If you're so eager to look for such signs, you may as well stop playing... you obviously aren't enjoying your time here anymore. :(

I hope this 3.1 patch is really "ready". I'm not getting a good feeling about this patch so far.
Maybe it's the bad taste lingering from 3.0.2 and 3.0.8.
Well, if not WoW, then Rock Band. No biggie.

Meh. Until they can get an in game version that's actually better than the add-on versions (ie. one that actually STORES your gear... that would be awesome), my opinion of the whole thing is "meh."

I have had extreme problems with installing the patch during the day today. I am getting the error "Unable to validate Game Version". I hope no one else is getting this because if so blizzard may have corrupted the patch by somehow programming that the eqipment manager was there when it really wasn't? Just a thought...

@Austin: I doubt it has anything to do with the equipment manager. They announced a while ago that it wouldn't be in the patch, I'd bet they just never got around to removing it from the notes.
That said, errors are lame. Are servers even live yet?

Has anyone else had a problem downloading the patch data? I'm stuck at 68% right now = /

I was very surprised to see the patch that the Background Downloader had nabbed for me was complete. I didn't download a single byte of patch data today as far as I can tell, and I haven't gotten any verison errors or anything as others are reporting. When I logged into WoW around 8 AM Pacific, it just started up the downloader, which checked the file I already had, then installed it. Now I'm just waiting for the realm selection screen to list live realms instead of the blank "Development Realms" list.

Mine did the same thing. It flew from 0 to 68% and then froze. I just walked away, took a shower, and had lunch and by the time I came back the patch had finished downloading just fine.
I think the first 68% of the patch must be stuff that's easy to install and the stuff after is harder or something. *shrugs* I'm no expert at computers, but I know that nothing's wrong.
