When I got a n52te, I bit the bullet and gave up on keyboard movement. Mouse turning is a whole lot faster and more precise, and it's working very well for me.
I use the mouse+right click to turn. I set up the n52te hat switch (mini thumb d-pad) so that up/down covers forward/back, and left/right covers strafe left/right. The thumb button (#15) is jump. That leaves 14 keys available for abilities.
If you want to keep the WASD+strafe setup, then you're down to 8 ability keys and yes, the keyboard will be better. I'm not a hater on keyboard turners - do what works for you - but it was easier than I expected to make the switch.

I tried the n52's DPAD with both the round top and without the round top, I only tried using it with the D-PAD (what's the point if you are going to waste the Belkin's keys on WASD right?) but I simply couldn't get my movement as quick as it was with WASD, and I make extensive use of the F-keys as well as both shift, ctrl, and shift+ctrl buttons - even hearthstone is bound!
