Flawless Victor title removed in Patch 3.1

Blizzard gives no reason for the removal of the Achievement and title, and forum posts asking about the matter have so far received no blue responses. On the other hand, Bornakk was quick to address the bug about the Champion of the Frozen Wastes title, which was hotfixed. It's fairly certain that Blizzard removed the Achievement intentionally. Some suspect that there were exploits that allowed players to obtain the Achievement with ease, while others dismissed it as a meaningless title in what is arguably the most imbalanced Arena season to date. With the Arena system being completely overhauled yet again for Season 6, it is possible that we may see the title return in some form or the other.

Removed cuz nub Death Knights could get it while expert hunters couldn't. Not a true test of skill.

more blaming of dks for everything. i suppose it is their destiny to be the scapegoats of azeroth for all eternity, or until the next xpac comes out, whichever happens first.
p.s. lol @ "expert hunters"

I dunno... I'd say Hunters were at the bottom during Season 5, even despite the burst dps buff to Explosive Shot which made it THE pvp spec.
I'd still say that the top classes in arena were Death Knights, Ret and Holy Paladins, and a few others. I found that even with high resilience, Hunters had quite a few disadvantages in pvp, particularly arena.

speak for ourself

Hunters were at the bottom? Noone is saying they were the all-conquering DK/Pally 2v2 teams, but please learn not to take your own experiences as universal. Hunters did well, most would say much better than they did in all of TBC. Burst dmg, utility, CC, mana drain, detterence and even limited immunity. If you're at the bottom it's you, not your class.

Haha, every time I speak with customer support anywhere, that phrase goes through my head. Too many nightmares from my Ultima Online days... XD

Wow. I have to say, if I logged in and that happened to me, I'd be pissed.

Blizzard really is puzzling sometimes. Even if this season was imbalanced, getting to that high of a rating and winning 10 games in a row was still a very difficult thing to achieve. You were, after all, playing against all the other unbalanced teams, also, so it's not like you had it easy.
I honestly think Blizzard has no clue whatsoever about what they do sometimes - and I'd almost bet this was the decision of some bad-at-pvp developer that just did it cause he could.
More importantly, though, is why - after this much time and experience - Blizzard can't release a new content patch that isn't broken for a week. I don't really think it's impressive, no matter how difficult the task.

it depends on the class, I facerolled with a DK and lock in my 3's on my holy pally and we eaisly got our titles and wyrms

"I honestly think Blizzard has no clue whatsoever about what they do sometimes"
I think the ungodly amount of profit they make says otherwise. Trust me, they know exactly what they're doing.

i think your right.....
it seem's there are 2 kinds of wow players, those who don't mind paying money for something they don't get and those who do mind paying for something they don't get.
like with the hole blizz is giving us a freeday because of the whole 3.1 crap. some pple was like wow blizz is so nice for doing this , and man are they cool or they say well, blizz did not have to give us any thing.
and on the other hand you have pple saying wtf i have lost 2 days of play time.
after 4 years blizz should should have knew better then to try and change so much at one time imo. plus is it just me or is anyone else sick of always having to learn a new way of playing the same toon every other week.
now for alittle more food for thought, blizz says they never let anything go live until it's ready. then why do they let stuff go live that....
1, makes the hole game crash for a couple of days.
2, that lets pple cheat like with arena's
i'm sorry for qqing ( as they put it) but really ask yourself this... if blizz was a store would you still shop there after the way they treat everybody? i mean really.......
and yes when my time run's out i'm done sick of throwing my money away.

Titles that could potentially be exploited or traded into being removed?
OH MY!
What a shock!
Yeah, in a way it sucks for those who got the titles without cheating, but I suspect Blizzard knew they couldn't fairly check everybody so instead it got removed in one wide sweep.
Now yes, we know this also happened with some of the other Arena titles and even mounts, I know a guild mate who was bitterly upset that win traders screwed him out of an arena mount. And if Blizzard had decided to say "No Mounts, No Titles" for those seasons, I think he'd have been at least satisfied to know that the cheaters didn't get rewarded.
Thander Apr 16th 2009 3:17PM
They should have done the whole hidden ratings thing before the season started. Also, many DKs took advantage of their early power and got this one early before people could react. I think DKs are much more balanced after 3.1.
Clbull Apr 16th 2009 3:45PM
I think you're right about DKs being much more balanced after 3.1, and the fact that introducing a hidden rating HALFWAY through the season was stupid.
Lyraat Apr 16th 2009 3:22PM
Win trading aside, you could get this honestly and still be getting it much easier than other people.
Blizzard can control how easy/hard a boss/dungeon/raid is. They cannot control how good players are. Even at the 2000+ rating level, you could face teams that are easy for you simply because you counter them effectively. And if you happen to face the same team ten times in a row, you just got yourself a title.
To me, it's an achievement worthy of acknowledging. Just getting to 2000+ rating is impressive (yes, I suck at Arena). Winning 10 in a row at that level is very impressive.
Roboticus Apr 16th 2009 3:35PM
I'm floored! A thoughtful comment on an article that mentions arena! Thank you Lyraat.
You should get an achievement for resisting the urge to say something dismissive or childish about arenas.
