Flawless Victor title removed in Patch 3.1

Blizzard gives no reason for the removal of the Achievement and title, and forum posts asking about the matter have so far received no blue responses. On the other hand, Bornakk was quick to address the bug about the Champion of the Frozen Wastes title, which was hotfixed. It's fairly certain that Blizzard removed the Achievement intentionally. Some suspect that there were exploits that allowed players to obtain the Achievement with ease, while others dismissed it as a meaningless title in what is arguably the most imbalanced Arena season to date. With the Arena system being completely overhauled yet again for Season 6, it is possible that we may see the title return in some form or the other.

True, they can't control how good players are at their class, but they can control class balance to an extent, like certain abilites being too weak/too powerful in pvp.

I noticed in the Wintergrasp meta achievement list they appear to have removed the requirement for the Grand Black Ninja Mammoth. In addition, there is no longer an achievement for
acquiring that mount at all! Which is good since it was a crazy one. I didn't mind the achievement, but it should never have been part of the meta. There are probably a few other achievement changes as well that were undocumented.

QQ Pick one of the other 10,000 titles that are easily obtainable IMO.
At the same time, it's uncool that they removed the title from the arena players without mentioning it before the patch. Very uncool. Seems as though they wanted to avoid the backlash until after the patch dropped to me, then they could say, "Sorry, our bad. Seeya".

can you still get the champion of the frozen waste title ??
sikyon Apr 16th 2009 3:54PM
Real PvP'ers are Arena Masters!
No I'm sad, this was a great title but I guess that cheating the system really does screw us all over, no wonder we can't have nice things. Blizzard tries and tries and we mess it up.
Sanguinefrozenboy Apr 16th 2009 3:51PM
I'm glad they removed it. It was nearly impossible for a non DK/Pally comp to get it.
I hope that they don't readd it until a season were things are at least close to balanced. Things are looking good for this season so maybe they'll put it back in there.
To those of you who ran DK/pally and are mad, good. If you're really as good as you think you are, then if they readd it you'll get it again.

meh I liked my title, but I'll be ok with my gladiator titles instead ;)
and fyi not just dk/pallies got em I got it on a Marks hunter >_

I stand by my statement.
Sol Apr 16th 2009 3:56PM
i coulda sworn there was some blue posts about that way long ago saying beacuse of the way the new arena system was being abused for people to get shit tons of wins against way lower ranked players they were removing the tittle as this was just an exploit ...
Boxhead Apr 16th 2009 3:59PM
Its just a title, if i remember that there was alot of drama after season 1 cause people wern't getting there title. And blizzard had to patch so they could show their title. Season 5 arena's was down 60%, it is wrong to meet the demands of a minority or other wise they will have to listen to shamans.
Titan Apr 16th 2009 4:17PM
Yeah, like Sol mentioned, another really easy way to get this achievement would to be matched against teams that were much lower rated than you (1700's etc) while you are in the 2k range repeatedly. That's basically luck on the matchmaking systems part, and having the title "FLAWLESS VICTOR" from this kind of happenstance doesn't really make any sense.
I can see why they removed it.
mstrwiggles7 Apr 16th 2009 4:29PM
Seems there's another glitch too. My guild formed a raid for For The Horde and ended up killing the king of SW. However, nobody in the raid got the achievement for it. Lamesauce.
Jon Do Apr 16th 2009 4:39PM
You're missing which title? Oh, THAT title. The deletion of your title and achievement is working as intended.
...later...
What problem in AV? There is no problem. Fifteen Horde against forty Alliance is working as intended.
...later...
Twinking is not supported. These changes are working as intended.

Your move.
Baumli May 12th 2009 7:49AM
Sucks doesn't it? I have the same problem in the Retalliation Battlegroup- we used to win AV all the time before 3.0... now every time i enter AV its 40 horde, 13 alliance. /afk!
Matchu Apr 16th 2009 4:46PM
WTB hotfix for EU servers on champion of the frozen waste. Still no eta on it.
ranova Apr 16th 2009 5:57PM
um the immortal title\undying couldve been exploited to get it easily.....
Sam Apr 17th 2009 3:41AM
imo they should just remove any arena related titles for the 5th season.
But then again, it was clearly balanced.
smiley Apr 17th 2009 7:55AM
I'm ok with losing the flawless victor.. but WHY would you hate on the Glad titles.
I wear all of those with pride as one of only a handful of people on my server who don it.
and yes there were class issues but what about those of us who rose above?
who dared to BEAT the holy pally/DK grouping.
me (hunter) and my resto druid worked HARD to get that title, it woudl suck to get it stripped.
like i sad flawless victor was possible to exploit ifine, take it away from those of us who earned it to but don't take glad's away >_<
and btw where's your outrage over the MSwarrior/resto druid OP teams in seagon 4?
or the mage/lock burn teams of season 3?
or the rogue druid season 2?
or the pally warrior season 1?
there will always be a flavor of th eseason comp just roll with the punches, adapt, and rise above
Baumli May 12th 2009 7:42AM
Despite how 'imbalanced' Season 5 was (18% of gladiators were paladins, 13% Deathknights......8% Hunters....) and while i wont argue- survival hunters were OP- but it was more the composition Survival / Healer (90% of the time a Paladin or Shaman) than the class itself. Hate the game, not the player. Its true hunters are the hardest class to play arena as (with exception to Season 5, RIP warriors) and Season 5 was a well deserved break, much like the one ret paladins experienced in 3.0- Yet the funny part is- despite the obvious advantage Survivalists got in Season 5, the statistics prepared for the season on Gladiator breakdown by class revealed that percentage wise hunters were balanced in appearance among the top 100 teams. (Up to 8.18% [s5] from 1.7% [S4]) But i think Blizzard took the nerfbat a littlebit TOO far with hunters, and not far enough with Resto Shaman and Holy Paladins. I personally would like to see Marksman be a viable pvp spec (which will NEVER happen with the recent ViperSting nerf), but more than anything I would like my Flawless Victor title back- I was a little aggravated to find it missing after i dedicated an entire day that was set out to study for a Chem212 exam, sweating bullets and barely surviving Shadowfrost DK/pally teams- only to get the title taken from me and an unacceptable grade on my chem test. Redesigning the achievment to be more difficult to exploit was a simple option that was overlooked by blizzardactivision out of sheer laziness. Blizzard hates the players- not the game.
